What is the best formula for making a glass window cleaning solution?

The best thing ever, even for the salt residue from the beach is white vinegar and newspaper. This is what I used when I lived on Galveston. Take a newspaper and soak a part in vinegar, like you would if you were going to put some little water on a paper towel. Then scrub the windows. Or you can mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with water and put it in a spray bottle. The newspaper is used becaused it will not leave streaks!!!! Works well, on all types of windows, except maybe tinted windows!

I agree with Tigger. I was taught by an older lady some years back to use vinegar and water on windows but she always used newspaper instead of paper towels etc. Works like a charm, and no streaks!

I just use half-and-half white vinegar and water, and no ammonia. My mother's formula for glass cleaner is similar, but she adds a few drops of dish detergent too.

Vinegar and water - example 1 c vinegar 2 c water - and use newspaper (black and white) - no streaks

we just straight out white vinegar and the windows come out streak free and all the prints and dust and what not come out too

Why not save time and energy and just buy some Windex? it works better anyway.
