Evolution and Islam.. whats your point of view?
how exactly like what is your thought process when you say they go hand in hand?
If I say that we evolved than all the stories from Quran are wrong.
If I say Quran is 100% right than Evolution has no place.
but I can't in my mind deny the power of natural selection leading to evolution.
how do you cope with it? I want to know your EXACT theory and what you BELIEVE.
Actually its called a theory because its something that we can't observe in a lab... In scientific community its pretty much taken as a fact. Natural selection has been observed and natural selection leads to evolution so evolution is a fact. I just don't know how muslims seems to connect with Islam.
** I asked my parents but they have not idea what evolution is and when I tried explaining they said it was haram and I should not study it, they forgot that I am microbiology major so evolution is obviosly a huge topic.**
Σ√→ Θ tђคคภ ∩๏๏ภ ☪♫←±'s- that web site is completely BS I would not recommend actually telling people about it because it insults your intelligence as well as of the person you recommended it to.
I really was looking for a good discussion

I believe that natural selection is what kept us alive. I also believe that mohammed had no idea about evolution which is why he didn't bother to rattle on and on endlessly about it. mohammed knew about hate, anger and warfare. He rattled on and on about those subjects plenty. He may have been good as a terrorist on the war front, I don't think any of us would want him coming up with any scientific theories for us. Look at all the simple scientific "facts" he got wrong that was pretty well known in his day. Sperm from the backbone, gestational progression, sex of fetus determined by parent's orgasim.
If evolution and the koran go hand in hand, why is it that your parent's did not even know of it? You supplied your own answer in your question. Why are the stories in the koran wrong?

I think first we should really see what evolution says about itself. There are many surprises in their textbooks waiting for us. And there are many things which agree with Islam [punctuated equilibrium, big bang, cosmic crunch, expanding universe, etc] "Although an almost incomprehensible number of species inhabit Earth today, they do not form a continuous spectrum of barely distinguishable intermediates. Instead, nearly all species can be recognized as belonging to a relatively limited number of clearly distinct major groups, with very few illustrating intermediate structures or ways of life." (Robert L. Carroll, Patterns and Processes of Vertebrate Evolution, Cambridge University Press, 1997) If my theory be true, numberless intermediate varieties, linking most closely all of the species of the same group together must assuredly have existed... Consequently evidence of their former existence could be found only amongst fossil remains. (The Origin of Species: A Facsimile of the First Edition, Harvard University Press, 1964, p. 179) Despite more than a hundred years of intense collecting efforts since the time of Darwin's death, the fossil record still does not yield the picture of infinitely numerous transitional links that he expected. (Robert L. Carroll, Patterns and Processes of Vertebrate Evolution, Cambridge University Press, 1997, p. 25)

One can beleive in evolution and entertain the idea of a creatorGod .

One of the reasons why i left Islam.
So, humanity is doomed on earth bcos a tallking snake tricked a woman into eating some fruit? Seriously............this stuff have got to go. There is no reconciliation between reason and faith , one can try like i did but you;ll only end up in frustaration

You must compare Koran with LAWS only, not theories or hypothesis.
It’s called Darwin's THEORY of evolution, it’s not yet proven: example the case of the missing link. But people today seem to accept it as law. It’s called Darwin's THEORY because the logic/ picture is incomplete!
So when it becomes Darwin's LAW of evolution, then restate your question simple as that!
===============Extension 1 ================
Gravity: it’s also called Law of Gravitation, F=mg (is a proven fact) same doesn’t apply for Darwinism.

I didn’t hope to bring thing this idea into here, because of the extra arguments it will bring. I will not post anything extra; this is my final editing for this.
Have you heard of the group called Clonoid (or something alike). They are group who claimed in the year 2000, to have successfully cloned a human baby (?). Their idea of evolution is that, human are not the native to this planet, hence Darwinism doesn’t apply to them. According to the Clonoids humans came to this planet by ‘spaceship’ some 20-30000 years ago, from outer space.
Now if one was to analysis their theory, Biblically humans are ‘aliens’ to this world. They (Adam and Eve) did come from another ‘planet’ (Heavens). I say this theory is in perfect agreement with the Biblical version!
However I realise its too radical for most of us to accept that scientifically, in the present time. But we would never know how much that ‘Clonoid theory of evolution’ may gain acceptance, after our lifetime. We can only speculate. The whole idea of this was to show that there other theories of evolution, other than Darwinism.
Please not no counter argument, I am in no mood to debate it. Thanks

Your statements are wrong; Islaam does not reject the idea of evolution, but it does reject the idea of darwinism.
Allaah is both “Al-Khaliq” (The Creator) and “Al-Bahri” (The Evolver).
Noor {24:45}
((And Allah has Created every animal from water; of them are some creeping on their bellies; some walk on two legs; and some on four. Allah Creates what He wills: for sure Allah has Power over all things.))
Zumar {39:42}
((It is Allah that takes the souls (of men) at death; and those that did not die, during their sleep: those on whom He has passed the decree of death, He keeps back, but the rest He sends (to their bodies) for a term appointed. Verily in this are Signs for those who reflect.))
Fine then, I will just tell you what I believe of evolution ↑↑↑
