Why, in the religion and spirituality section, do I find mostly non-believers?

It seems to me that if non-believers are so sure that there is no God, they wouldn't be asking so many questions about religion. Is there something that they are looking for and haven't found? Or is it simpy mean-spirited and ignorant fun for them?

Update:

MrsC, Robert K, bless you.

Update 2:

I'm cool with those who are curious or looking for a different point of view. But don't insult my intelligence or my way of life just because I worship God.

Because we feel that religion is an important issue.

Religion is causing increasing harm to society. We're finally, as a society, starting to get past our old superstitious beliefs. We in this section are just part of this movement.

well I can speak for my self. while i am a believer in god, and that we should try to act a little more like christ, doing good for our fellow man and what not, I doubt much of what the bible says, and thus am usually considered a nonbeliever by many of the online community. i am not even all that religious, i tend to read and answer teh questions that are asked in ignorance, christian and atheist and every other religion, like why are _____ so stupid and what not. i usually just act as a moderater or something like that. some come I believe to help others understand teh argument a little better like when someone makes the argument there was no matter before teh big bang and thus something created it, I usually answer with the currently accepted model of physics and how they explain that instead of god. good question though.

People want to believe in something that is real. Its hard to shuffle through all the different religions and be sure it is "the real deal". Their is nothing wrong with non-believers being on this site, maybe you could share something tangible that they can accept rather than criticize why they are on the site. What have you said that has helped anyone. Religion is supposed to be based on love, all it seems to have done is separate people and your not helping by doing the same thing. Your comment does not sound like love to me.

On my way to becoming an atheist, I studied religion in depth. I think I'm quite able to participate in a discussion of a topic that affects everyone.

Go to the royalty section sometime. I think you'll find that it's mostly commoners posting. Funny, eh?

Do you ever observe people being mean-spirited about the wealthy? I mean really hating them because of their wealth? It's obvious they are jealous of those folks who have what they want very badly.

I definitely notice the venom of the non-believers, and can only assume they are looking for proof that God exists. You know ... I hate sports. I care nothing about those that play (professional) sports and don't care to know one thing about sports, sports news, etc. Mostly I feel like sports is a waist of time .... and I've never spent one second in the sports section of Answers. (Is there a sports section?)

I do believe they get a perverse sense of fun and enjoyment out of their hatred for us. The fallen state of mankind only makes me realize more how badly we need a savior ... so they actually increase my faith with their bile.

    Atheists can be spiritual, also.

Let's say that Atheists are right, wouldn't us Saving you form a lifetime of the torture of being a Christian be worthwhile? Besides, I could say that Christianity is more a relationship with God, not a religion.

Also, many Christians interfere with legislation, and this is one way to help stop that.

Non-believers need some kind of forum to express their world view even though they know that they have no proof. Behind all that phony bluster, non-believers are looking for some sort of validation that they might be, in some way, superior to us poor, deluded people who believe in God. Best wishes!

Does it say "Only Those Who Believe in Religion and Spirtuality"? No. We are discussing it; some of those do it in a more mean-spirited way, whether they be Christian or Atheist.

Your god isn't my goddess. So what are you doing in the religion section? Or do you feel religion means only Christianity, Judaism and Islam?

Because the believers are out there living full lives and likely seeking ways to help others.
