What is the average amount spent on flowers?
I'm not really sure what deals are good when it comes to flowers. I plan to have only a bouquet for myself and for each of my seven bridesmaids. I'll probably only have roses or tulips (which ever I think look best) and I am not having any as centerpieces. So what should I expect to spend for 8 bouquets?
The wedding is in September. That's why I'm a bit leery about having tulips since they will be way out of season. They are my favorite though.

are you doing it yourself or having a florist do it
there are so many factors to the price, tulips are very pretty, but will be expensive in the fall, good luck. i'd call around and get prices.

Honestly, it depends on where you go. I am spending about 2,000 but am having 15 centerpieces, 4 bouquets of red roses, pearls and stephantosis and my bouquet of calla lillies and white roses. Also, we are getting about 10 boutineres and 5 cosages. Everything adds up pretty quickly and your location is also a factor. We got a quote of 6000 from one florist and ended up going to a local florist that works from her farm. We ended up saving 4000 and are having the exact same flowers as the other place wanted, and she is adding pearls and french braided silk to the bouquets for free!
To answer your question a little more specifically, I was told that a bridesmaid bouquet, dependent on its consistency, should be anywhere from 30-100, average being 75.
Hope this helps

I do not have a big budget for flowers either. I am having 7 bridesmaids also and the good thing about that is that the bouquets dont need to be real big. I am getting 6 pink gerber daisies, one stem of tangerine spray roses, and lime green pom mums for $35 each. My bouquet will have gerber daisies, regular tangerine roses, lime green spider mums, & orchids for $100. I am going to save money by using the bridesmaids bouquets for half of my centerpieces and then get loose flowers to compliment the bouquets for the rest =)

There is no average since the amount of flowers, and florists, vary from bride to bride and location to location. You can expect to spend hundreds, if not thousands, however. I originally wanted gerbera daisies for our September wedding, but they were more expensive per stem than roses! As an alternative I had a French beaded bouquet made, and since we're having a Victorian-esque wedding, the girls will be carrying n antique volume of their favorite book. Total cost: $39.

The average amount is about 8% of your total budget.
I'm getting married in the fall and I was SHOCKED when I met with a florist. The bridesmaids will have these very simple bouquets with 7 flowers (cala lilies) in them and it cost almost $100 each!!! I decided to do some research and, since we're not doing anything elaborate, we're ordering our flowers online. I know it sounds scary, but my mom took a flower arranging class at Michael's and we cut our cost in half!
Here's where we're getting our flowers from:

I am only having bouquets and boutonnieres that are floral. I'll be having bouquets for me and 5 bridesmaids, boutonnieres for my groom and 5 groomsmen, fathers of bride/groom and grandfather, and corsages for mothers of bride/groom and grandmothers. My centerpieces are not floral. My favorite flowers are carnations. Everything will be white and pink regular and miniature carnations. They are being done by a grocery store rather than a florist. Grocery stores with floral departments will do an excellent arrangement, but they do not jack up the prices like many florists do. My flowers are being done by Stop & Shop. The total cost of my flowers: $409.01.

Depends on when your wedding is so as to determine if the flowers are in season. If they are out of season, they will be bit pricier. It also depends on the size of the bouquets you're wanting. One stem or 8 stems it all depends. I would call a local florist and speak with them.

My bouquet cost $35 and it was absolutely stunning! I made it myself. I ordered the oasis bouquet holder from ebay, wrapped it with satin ribbon. Ordered 2 dozen gorgeous roses from costco for $15, cut the roses on the day of wedding and arranged them.
It only took 15 minutes for the flower arranging.
