  • My DS no longer charges?

A little while ago I caught my dog happily chewing on my DS. Besides a bunch of chew marks I realized it still worked. However, about a day or two after that I needed to charge it. At first I noticed that it somewhat was charging (the light would stay lit and then go out if I shook it or moved it). But now it won't light up at all and now I fear that it no longer will charge.

What is the matter with it? Is there anyway I can fix this?

  • Has anyone ever posted their picture/story to Maggie Brides?

I posted mine twice (once in November and then tried again a few weeks ago). How long does it take for them to post it on the website? My wedding was in September and I see people who's weddings were in October and November on there. And do they contact you when it's posted or no?

  • A four day cruise for the honeymoon?

I know this isn't exactly about weddings...its about the honeymoon. But I figured I'd ask it here since you ladies (and gentlemen) are usually pretty helpful.

My fiance and I plan to book our honeymoon soon. Originally we weren't going to do anything huge since we don't have a whole lot of money to spend on it. But then we started researching 4 day cruises and found that some seem to be within our budget. We don't want to do a full week because he is in the military so he doens't get a whole lot of time off.

We were thinking of doing one to the Carribbean or the Bahamas. But my question to you is, do you think thats worth it? We would have to fly down to Miami (from Philly) since thats where the ship leaves from. Do you think the price of a 2 plane tickets (about $175) and the price of the cruise (for both its about $400 or $500) is worth only 4 days on a cruise?I've never been on a cruise before so I don't know what a good deal is.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Tricare Prime Health Insurance question?

My husband is in the Navy and we have Tricare Prime health insurance. He is stationed in Maryland and I was living in Philadelphia. So because of that they gave me a primary doctor in my area and was able to go to a OB/GYN that accepted Tricare without having to get referred. Now I recently moved down to Maryland with him. Does that mean I need to contact Tricare about switching my primary doctor?

Also, not to get too personal but I need to make an appointment with an OB/GYN down here soon and I'm not sure how to go about it? Do I just call any ole' office that accepts Tricare or do I have to get referred to one by Tricare themselves? I'm so confused. Please help. Thanks in advance!

  • Am I being paranoid about my Fiance?

I recently moved in with my Fiance. (I actually moved to a whole new state since he is in the Navy.) It's been long time coming and we are both very happy to finally be living together. However, I feel like that since I moved in he hasn't been affectionate with me at all. He isn't the most affectionate person to begin with but this is a little extreme, even for him. I feel like I'm the one constantly initiating anything. I know we've both been adjusting to living together and I also know he's been a bit stressed at work so I'm not sure if that's why he's been a bit distant lately.

But I've also noticed that he seems to be texting a lot to people that he works with. He works with mainly woman (and I have not met any of them yet). So of course I'm getting a little jealous. He used to leave his phone around without really ever looking at it more than once a day. Now, I feel like he is texting a lot more and keeping it on him at all times without ever leaving it out (as if he's afraid I may pick it up without him around). I'm afraid of saying anything because he usually gets a little mad when I act jealous. He tells me I have nothing to worry about. But I can't help but feel nervous that something more is going on.

    Am I overreacting?

  • Maid of Honor/ Matron of Honor?

My maid of honor is technically a matron of honor (she has been married for about a year and a half now). However, for whatever reason, she has a little bit of an issue with the word "matron" and has asked me to consider her a "maid" even though she is married. So I have been calling her my maid of honor.

I know it isn't a huge issue but on the programs and such do you think I should still consider her a "maid" even though she isn't?

  • Do you think these are nice bridesmaid gifts?

I'm trying to buy the bridesmaid gifts online since it's easier to buy in bulk (I have 6 bridesmaids and 1 maid of honor). I want to get them a nice pearl necklace to wear with their dress but something that isn't your typical pearl necklace. I found this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Double-Cultured-Freshwater-N...

Also, I found these cute double cosmetic bags that I can add their initals to. What do you think:

    http://www.mybridesmaidsgifts.com/personalize-cosm...

And then I was going to get them each a pair of flip flops to wear at the reception if they choose. Do you think these are good gifts? Should I add anything else? And also, I'd like to get my maid of honor a little something extra but have no idea what that should be. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • Instead of favors...how does this sound?

I really do not want to have favors at my wedding. I think they are a bit stupid and a huge waste of money. I really like the idea of giving to a charity in lieu of favors. So I was thinking that I would pick a charity and my fiance would pick one. And at the reception we'll give everyone a "gold coin" and have two boxes set up somewhere with the names of each charity. Then I'll guests can place their "coins" in whatever box they wish to donate to charity. Then whichever charity gets the most coins wins and thats the charity we will give to.

Does that sound like a good idea or do you think our guests will think we're crazy?

  • What is the average amount spent on flowers?

I'm not really sure what deals are good when it comes to flowers. I plan to have only a bouquet for myself and for each of my seven bridesmaids. I'll probably only have roses or tulips (which ever I think look best) and I am not having any as centerpieces. So what should I expect to spend for 8 bouquets?

  • Why is my reception hall different from others?

I have read on here and heard from others who have had weddings that having a buffet dinner is cheaper for a wedding. However, the hall where I booked my reception informed me and my finace that it would cost us MORE to have a buffet because they have to make more food as opposed to a sit down where they only have to make 2 or 3 of the same dish.

Is anyone elses hall like this or is mine the exception? I was wondering because I was thinking of having a buffet so my guests have more variety but I don't want to put out the extra money.

  • I lost a piece for wireless guitar for Rock Band?

I lost the plug in for the wireless guitar for rock band for the playstation 3. Ya know the little black thing that you plug into the system that reads the guitar so you are able to play? Is there any place that sells that seperatly or am I pretty much screwed? I really don't feel like having to buy a whole new guitar just for that piece.

  • What gets out the smell of a skunk?

have a Golden Retriever that was sprayed by a skunk 2 weeks ago? (She literally had the thing in her mouth when it sprayed her. Both skunk and dog are fine lol) However, she still smells! It isn't as bad as it was once she first get sprayed but it is still evident.

We have tried everything from tomato juice to baking soda to bathing her with every type of dog shampoo (even ones that say they take out the skunk spray...liars!) My mother has even resorted to spraying her with Febreze on a daily basis. Is there anything else out there that we could have missed?

  • "Wild World" by Cat Stevens?

My dad has recently told me that he would really like for him and I to dance to "Wild World" by Cat Stevens for our father-daughter dance at my wedding. I really love that song and he told me that he always pictured us dancing to it on my wedding day. It seems like such a good choice for us since we both enjoy it. I could see us slow dancing a bit to it and then start grooving and stuff to the parts where the beat picks up a bit, so it could be a little fun as opposed to us slow dancing the entire time and being boring for everyone else.

The only thing is that it is a little obvious at some parts that it is about a guy singing to an ex-girlfriend. I don't really care about that, but do you think it is a little strange?

Here is a link to the song:

  • Should we still consider it a wedding?

My fiance and I have our wedding scheduled for September 26, 2009. He is in the Navy and just found out that he will be deployed this June until Jan. of '09. This is good b/c seeing as how the church and hall are both already booked, he will be home by then and will be able to help with the final planning.

I have been given a lot of advice by family, friends, co-workers and also wonderful people on Yahoo!Answers. The consenses has pretty much been that it would be a good idea for us to go to the justice of the peace and get married in May before he leaves. That way if, God forbid, something were to happen we would be married and I would get notice as well as everything else that comes along with being a milatary wife. He also would be making more money monthly which would allow us to save more money for the "wedding".

If we do get married in may but decide to keep everything booked for september '09, should we consider it a wedding since technically we weren't married in church?

  • Military wives, husbands and fiances...?

My fiance is in the Navy and is currently station in Bethesda, MD. He still has another 3 and a half years left to put in. He found out yesterday that there is a good chance that he will be deployed this June for 8 months to Kuwait. So he will be back, hopefully, by January of 2009. Our wedding date is set for September 26, 2009, so I was releived to find out that he would be home to help with all the final details and such. But then he told me there is a chance he could be deployed a second time, which makes me nervous that there is a chance he could be deployed during the time that our wedding is supposed to take place.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm sure it has, but what do you do? Would you be able to get back whatever money you put down for the wedding?
