Can you identify this insect (is it a moth?)?
Hi, since I took some clothes out of storage, we've encountered a few of these bugs around the house. I'm 99% sure that we've only ever seen them on the second floor, where the closets are, and once or twice in the laundry room. What are these bugs, and how do I get rid of them? They are kind of gold coloured (it may not look like that in the photos because I altered the contrast in photoshop). I'd like to know the name of the insect; links to web pages that can help are appreciated too. Thanks.

It looks like a clothing moth, alright.
Quick tip: never show just pictures with altered contrasts; show originals as well. It'll make searching much easier.

It IS a Moth, and it could be the kind that produce the larvae that eat clothing. I don't know the species.
It is easy to keep these insects away from your cloths, etc. All you do is put Moth Balls in the drawers and closets.

You need to get them out of the house as soon as possible. Just one small hole in a wool suit, ruined my best suit. Note; they do not eat just clothes, they eat fabric, which includes furniture and draperies. So you may want to place moth ball throughout the house for awhile, later just in clothes storage like closets and dressers will do. I also found that a night light I use to move around in the middle of the night attracts moths in the house and lets me know when to refresh moth balls.

It is a moth and it is probably a 'Clothes Moth' (Tineola bisselliella). The antennae on a clothes moth are fairly long - about half of its body length - but they can't really be seen in your photograph. There are dozens of related moths which damage clothes; all have a silvery or gold sheen to their wings.
