When my cat went into labour, this is what I noticed:

    - She was off her food in the morning, very unusual for her!

    - She was restless all day, going around the house, crying, seeking

    attention from me.

    - Constantly rearranging her nest box

A big giveaway is if your cat is actually straining. Keep an eye on her, if she doesn't seem to be in distress (crying, panting etc), then she may be waiting until everything is quiet to give birth. Of course, if you are worried, take her to the vets immediately.

If she is hanging around her nesting box, she is close.

She probably looks worried because contractions may be starting, and/or she might not be totally comfortable with her nesting area.

I never checked to see if any of my rescue cats produced milk before birth, but I don't think they do.

See, they eat the placentas and afterbirth to trigger milk production, so I don't think there *should* be any milk before birth.

if you are worried take her to the vet and they can tell you if she is in labor. cats like to have thier kittens when noone is around.
