What to do when someone is missing?
My boyfriends daughter is 23 years old. She has been missing since late yesterday evening and her mobile phone is swithched off. My boyfriend has just set off on on a coach on the way back from london to East Yorkshire and is distraught. His ex Father-in-law just phoned him to tell him. What can i do from this end to help? I only met her yesterday for the first time. I dont know any of her family or friends. When she left me yesterday she was in a happy mood. She was going to visit her grandad and then going round to her friends for a drink. I know she was planning on going back to her Mums at 11 ish as she was due to catch a train this morning and had left 2 cases at her mums. Any ideas on what i can do would be greatfully recieved. Thanks in advance.
As he phoned me to ask what he should do i asume he wants me to try to help from this end til he gets back. I dont want to phone him back at the moment as i know he wants to keep his phone free in case there is any news.

I know it is worrying when someone is missing, but my advice would be to not worry just yet, i know that it is really really hard to do so but she has only been gone less than 24 hours and you need to think that there could be a number of perfectly good explanations of where she could be.
I suggest that you stay strong for you boyfriend and just explain that there could be a number of possibilities and tell him he shouldnt worry as it is not definate that she is missing
I know this advice is probably not helpful at all because all I'm saying is not to worry when it is very difficult not to but I do hope that it helps!
good luck! x

I'm in the USA, but when something like this happens it's usually good to try to resolve the situation in the first 72 hours. Don't be slow. Also, does your boyfriend want you to get involved? If he does, you can call people she might know, or call bus/train/airports/taxis to see if they've seen your bf's daughter. You can upload a pic on your computer and call by phone and get their email so they have a pic and can see her. Also, call the law, if they haven't already and organize a search party.
Good luck to you and your family...my prayers are with you!
