turning off your lights can't "fight global warming" because there is no such thing as global warming. It is a theory and not scientific fact. Al Gore is an @ss and is only out for fame and money. We don't have that much power over the environment. Back in the mid 1970s the scientists were totally sure that we were headed for an ice age - "Global Cooling" problem. It was nothing, obviously!

Personally, it is now 7:22pm and I plan on turning more lights on out of protest for the naive people that think this is important!

You poor misguided soul! Don't you turn your lights out at night when you go to bed? That should be enough. This "turn your lights out hour" crap is just that...crap! I kept my lights on as usual and don't feel the least bit guilty about it. For you and others to have the audacity to think that by simply turning off a light bulb is somehow going to save the planet from infinite doom is preposterous! The earth was here millions of years before us and has undergone numerous forms of transformation within that time and it will continue do so after we are all dead and gone. So flick the switch on or off...it won't make the least bit of difference!

Your mother is right and you have been brainwashed into thinking "Man made" global warming is real when the opposite is true. You are one of the many that are like the moth drawn to the flame and will end up being burnt in the end. i have a story about a liberal teacher i have. i am in 9th grade and i have a science teacher who showed us the al gore movie without giving us a opposite side of the story. he then said to write a 5 page report on the environment. i picked global warming and how it was a lie. i also argued i class with him and he got really offended didn't talk to me for a week. well in my paper i put it was illegal to show that movie as a educational film without giving the other side. he got really pissed. but i still got the highest grade in the class.

The eco fanatics will be proud of your behaviour. Trying to impose your views on others and feeling frustrated when you are unsuccessful. If you believe in liberty and democracy accept the fact that not everybody will share your views. You can try to educate them, but in the end if you are unsuccessful, you have to learn to respect them.

First off let me say that global warming is not happening, despite what everyone is saying. secondly your mother is the elder and pays the bills ( i would imagine), so she can do whatever she wants in her house. if you want to live in a dark house and eat cold food, by all means have fun in your own place.

You need to respect your mothers beliefs. Global Warming is still under dispute and not everyone agrees.
