Such things as a false positive?
Took a preg test this afternoon (a sainburys own one) and it didnt finish (the control line wasnt really there) but it did look funny in the box where there would be a line if you were preg.
so a few hours later (3/4?) i took another and there seems to be a line there. I am not sure if its maybe one of these evaporation line things? But s a pink colour although lighter than the control.
Went and bought two clear blue dig tests just now and planning on testing at 9pm and again in the morning.
Could i actually be pregnant?
i was still sitting on the loo as i read it lol.
Its gotten darker since
oh and tw it was a clear lin. just paler than the control
i dont know about this stuff ok. THATS why i am asking
Thanks every one :) the ans are helpful and i will take this evening (just because we are a bit excited) but go by what tomorrow says

If you did the test correctly and got the result for a positive, then yes you are probably pregnant! The only way to get a false positive is if you are on some type of hormone or meds that will make your hcg levels unusually high. But that's not the case for you... The clear blue digital will tell you right away whether or not you're pregnant. I took mine at 5pm and got a positive right away. They say use the first morning pee, because the hcg levels are higher then... Hope you get the results you want!

it is very rare to get a false positive - if the line you noticed had any colour to it or looked at all pink, then i would say its a positive, if it has no colour then yes its an evaporation line - the sainsburys tests are quite strange and i remember buying two and was confused by both of them - so i went into boots and got some of their own brand ones - or if you go into wilkinsons they do a 2 pack for about £4, very good...!
good luck and i would say you were as there was some colour in the line - even though it wasnt dark.

false positives are very rare
an evaporation line will appear hours after taking the test that's why your not meant to read it after so long
but if you read it in the time given the your pregnant no matter how strong or faint the line is
first morning test will be most accurate as ur urine will be more concentrated and wont be diluted by drinks =]
congrats if you are..

you could yes i took a test at work and i swore that it was positive the line was faint, but i had another one and told me hubby when i got home that i think im preg, he didnt believe me so i took it and it was a faint line almost like you couldnt see it but i knew it you know, so we went to visit my parents for the week and came home, again i had work the next day and got another one a clear blue and guess what a dark blue line sure enough i was preg, so sometimes its just early to tell, but if you want to be preg im happy for, take the test tonite and let us know hun, best of luck!

No such thing as a false positive.
Could've been an evaporation line.
Make sure you hold your pee in a few hours before testing tonight so you have the most reliable answer!
I love the digital ones it takes away all the guesswork!
Good luck!

Yes. If you read the test when you were supposed to (whenever the directions said to) then it wasn't an evaporation line. Wait until tomorrow morning, no sense doing one tonight. You will get an accurate result with first morning pee.

Yeah, tests can be faulty, but it is very rare. You are probably just too early to produce a clear line..
And I have no idea if you are pregnant. I dont know anything else about you other than the tests you pee'd on today

My doctor actually told me himself that there is no such thing as a false positive, only a false negative can be wrong

you can get false negative test when you are pregnant they say if there is a positive line no matter how faint it is positive
