So which is it then? (two test results.. well sort of three)?

Took a test this morning (not first urine) and the test didn't finish but the first box was def showing pink in a line. So tested later on (lets call it four hours at least) with the same brand test (a sainsburys own) and it was positive. Pink line and everything (i asked about this on here but app this does mean positive and i read it when i was still on the loo and every thing)

So OH and i got slightly excited and went out and bought two digital clearblue tests and i took one now before bed (three hours after the last one) and it was negative :(

So should i take tomorrows and hope for the best or has clear blue won?

Thanks you guys

Update:

Why would the one be positive and the next negative? i bet i did it too soon :) thats it right? just too soon?

sorry to be a bother ladies

the clearblue digital tests arent very sensitive - u need more hcg (pregnancy hormone) in your urine to trigger off the pregnant result. Try doing it on first morning urine and see what it says, if it still says negative - dont worry, it doesnt mean u definitely arent.

i answered ur question earlier aswell - but get the wilkinsons ones - there is 2 in a pack for about £4.99 - i think the brand is Freedom or something... they are great and i got a positive on them at exactly 5 weeks pregnant.

good luck and congrats if you are....though i'd say you are, but u do have to be careful with the sainsburys tests. if u dont have a wilkinsons near you then go into tesco, asda or boots and buy their own brand ones...

Sounds like you're pregnant. A false positive is *practically* impossible unless you're taking hormones or some other obscure drug...

There are 2 reasons the Clearblue could be negative... Maybe it is very early on in pregnancy, and it isn't picking up the hormone as well as the Sainsbury's one (!!) and / or, it was well into the day by the time you took it, so the concentration of hormones in your urine was MUCH less than in the morning.

I'd say try another test first thing in the morning.

Let us know how it goes!!

A lot of things can impact the "accuracy" of the hpt. One is the amount of hcg that has to be present in your urine before the test reads positive. Some tests require a very small amout while others requires a significant amount. So you could potentially take 2 different brand tests with the same urine specimen and get different answere depending on test senstivity.

Also - the fact that you are not using FMU can play a mojor role in that - especially if you are drinking a lot and diluting the hormone.

And as state those digital tests have been known to have a few issues. I would guess your preggo as false positives are rare and a test generally won't say positive unless there is hcg in your system and one only has hcg if your preggo!

You are pregnant. The only reasons you get a positive pregnancy test is if you are pregnant or you are taking medications containing the pregnancy hormone which your doctor perscribes. You would know if that was the case. You can also get a positive if you ahve a ruptured ovarian cyst but those can be painful so I think you would know that as well.

False negatives happen when you use a test that doesn't detect enough pregnancy hormone or your body doesn't have enough for your test to read positive. Most likely the test you used in the morning detected less of the pregnancy hormone than the Clear Blue. All pregnancy tests are accurate it's just some need more of the hormone than others meaning you won't test positive on them until later.

You are pregnant. No doubt about it.

You're MUCH more likely to get a false negative than a false positive, and two false positives is a near impossibility. Also, it's possible that the first two tests you took detects a lower hcg level than the last one, which may explain your sole negative reading. You can try taking the other digital test first thing in the morning if it puts your mind at ease, but I'd say you're pregnant. Grats!

Hun any positive on a test, faint line or no, means you are definitely pregnant.

You got varying results because your HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels are still low. They will double about every 2-3 days and that's why they tell you if you aren't sure, test again in 2 days.

The digital test is set off by a higher hormone level because it's so "black and white", so your HCG level just needs to get higher before you get a positive result on that one.

    But you are 100% pregnant.

I took 15 yes 15 clear blue test all neg. so i go to the dr cuz i was throwing up and everything he does a test it came back pos. i took a dollar tree test with my second one and it came back pos. and then took a clear blue it came back neg. i was 7 weeks with the first and almost 4 months with the first never trust clear blue get a cheaper brand or go to the dr

  • Go get First Response digital. I read a lot about the clearblue digital tests, and that they don't detect low amounts of HCG.

Ive heard of alot of women getting negatives when they were pregnant with the clear blue digital, to me the cheap ones are the best ones..If you got a pink line then you are pregnant..

I think you should get a different brand. I did First Response and got my faint positive, while at the same time Clear Blue was telling me negative. The next day I did them again, First Response being even darker, yet Clear Blue still showing negative.

Just for fun I also did a no-name one and it was also positive.

..I think congratulations are in order for you!
