Ok so this question may sound dumb but please help?
Ok well i heard this in this forum but i have doubts about it..my question is does a woman become more likely to get pregnant after she stop taking birth control? I know it would be obvious just for the fact she stop taking birth control but my question is will she be more fertile than she ever have even before ever taking any birth control now or it will be the same as she had never taken BC?
sorry it's a little confusing but im about to quit birth control and i wanna know if my chances of becoming pregnant increased just because i was on birth control before.
Thanks

Some women go into a reactive hyper-ovulatory cycle after they stop birth control--that is, after being denied for so long, your body sometimes releases multiple eggs right after stopping birth control.
But that doesn't happen to everyone. I tried getting pregnant the month after I stopped taking BC because I really wanted twins, and it took me two months (even though I KNOW i had sex when I was ovulating the first month). Other women take several months to start ovulating again period...and there's no way to predict which way you'll go.
So, in general, your chances are about the same as usual, because the two extremes equal each other out :)

They are the same as before. Some people use birth control for years and then go off cause they want to get pregnant and still have trouble conceiving for years, others go off if and are pregnant not even a month later (that would be my case) so it all depends on YOUR body.

Actually it can harder to get pregnant after BC. While you are on the pill, it is producing your hormones for you and helping to regulate your period. After you get off of it, your body has a hard time figuring out what's going on and it takes time for it to regulate again. I have heard people getting pregnant the month they stop taking it! Every woman is different. I was 16 when I had my first child and after she was born I started taking the pill. I have been off for 2 years and my husband and I have been TTC for over a year. I wasn't told that the pill is keeping me from getting pregnant, but I have my suspicions! Good luck and best wishes!

I really think it depends on the person. My mother got pregnant with me 3 weeks after she got off the pill. But I've known people who's cycles get messed up by stopping bc and it can take a while to get back to normal and to conceive. I think it's different for everyone.

Going on birth control does not make a woman more fertile.

my future sister-in-law had cysts every month that would have made it really hard to get pregnant
they put her on bc to straighten her out
when she was thinking she wanted to get pregnant soon after her new years wedding they told her to stop taking the bc in july - thinking she'd take a while to get pregnant
guess what - she got pregnant in august
this isn't normal though
it usually takes women a few months to get normal again & then they're just normal - not superfertile

no good answer on this one sorry it really is up to the persons body.... I myself was perg with my last child beofre the next cycle ever had a chance to happen. My sister on the other hand had to do all kinds of fertlity stuff to get preg after she the BC so you never know what your body will do.

i have been told by my doctor that it will decrease your chances of getting pregnant after stopping not completely but it takes a while to get it out of your system for some people so it just depends on the person i guess.
