Will American government take our firearms a way?
Australian Gun Law Update
Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts...
From: Ed Chenel , A police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced
by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by
our own government, a program costing Australian taxpayers more than
$500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!&nbs p;
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not
and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed
robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months,
since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly,
while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased,
after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding
Australian society of guns.' You won't see this on the American evening news
or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this
information.
The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens
save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it's too late!

Thank you very much for posting this. You're exactly right you will not see these statistics in the media. There is currently an underground bill proposed called the Blair Holt bill. While not blatantly confiscating guns it will make it almost impossible to follow guidelines in order to own one. Check into it. Thanks

" An Armed Society, Is A Polite Society". I Can Believe Everything You Are Saying! The Criminals are having a free for all on The Citizens of Australia! Any Chance They Will Bring The Gun Ownership Law back? I Can Just See All These Punk A$$ Thugs Preying on The Elderly And Basically Anyone They Want! Who Is Gonna Be Afraid Of A Baseball Bat When You Are Locked And Loaded???How Did They Expect The General Public To Protect Their Homes And Families By Doing This? In America, I Think The Politicians Wouldn't Want To Try That One! They Might Find Some Buckshot In Their A$$.

Geez - this is from snopes as in "A lie that has been spread around the internet"
The data is made up!! The "police officer" is not a "police officer" but an American Gun Lobbeyist
This lie has already been disproved and an apology posted YEARS ago.
Do your research!!

I got that same e-mail. I've ended my membership with the NRA and since patronized GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA.
"The NRA, behind the scenes, has brokered, compromised,
and then endorsed every major anti Second Amendment
federal law passed for the last 30 years..."

"An armed man is a citizen...an unarmed man is a subject". I don't know who said this but it is so very true. The Lib government is a little too busy right now to think about our guns but never forget that Biden authored the assault weapons ban.

hard to dispute hard facts. I think that in America a large % of otherwise law-abiding people will in fact resist and not turn in their guns. I will lie and say that my guns were stolen in 1995 (or some other story) and tough shyt, no gun. and then tell the person who knocked on my door to go fck off.

It's not our "form of government" that's become destructive but how Obama is perverting and twisting it in order to advance his personal agendas, i.e., having the IRS harass non-liberal organizations, turning the Department of Justice on the media to try and silence them, etc.,.

i think they should abloish only certain guns like automatics like AK-47s and those kind like assault rifels the kinds of guns people rob banks with but i am a hunter and to take away guns from hunters would be bull sh** it is a way of providing meat on our tables and saves us money

Our left-wing government is making small steps in the direction towards completely abolishing our 2nd amendment. But I dont think they'll accomplish it without a fight.

I think a more accurate question would be:
Will they TRY to take the guns??
Perhaps....if so, that will be a BAD day.
