If we have a convention, how do we have a fun time for all involved, the Christians and the Atheists and ...?

There's 7 months to plan it in, so still early days.

Though, the sooner we make plans, the better.

It would be great to get that site up and running soon, so all who are interested, can have their say.

Nothing is set in Concrete yet.

We thought since it's on the East Coast this year, next year, the West Coast?

Although I think it would be Good at the initial Savouries and Drinks, which will probably be held in the the function room at the Hotel/Motel,

to where name Stickers with our name here, and 1st name underneath, like

"Froglegs For Breaky"

It would be so great to see 'who' everyone is and meet people in person. Guests could just were their first name.

I don't think we should go in with an attitude of denominations and those of none. Or who's going to not like so,n,so or do what. Were all adults so it's everyone to their own best behavior I should imagine.

I believe organised formerly all should have a great time.

And some Christians may want to go to a nightclub or pokies with their new-found friends &/or with their partners or friends or just for fun.. Hey it's a Party. Most Atheists I know live with high values and standards, it's Some on here that gives some people a bad image of them, and likewise some Christians on R&S do exactly the same!Some Atheist don't drink and some Christians still get drunk or high.

Yes whilst some people go out raging, it would be my desire and that of others that there are a few people like Pastor Bill who just did, would put their hand up, and i plan to ask a few more, so that we can have some of the Preachers from online, "Guest Speak" on the Saturday night (or I need alls view on this) as to whether we hire a band and have a R&S Social until some go off to the pokies... we would need a couple of MC's for direction. lol, after we have a R&S Dinner together.

and or Definitely on Sunday, as it would be a delight to spend "Church" (for some of us) listening to those we know.

This should be a bridging of any gap between all of us, to raise the bar so the non-judgemental RULE is high or at the TOP of all's list.

And let it be shown that we are all people with feelings and long to be with each other whom we have something familiar and have and do spend hrs with each week with, (again we are all different) and that is what we have in common with and the Beauty of our R&S family.

I do feel this will be a Brilliant time were not only those already formed friendships, but many others will be developed.

People have been trying to get this off the ground for, like Bonsai Bobby nearly did, for a few yr now.

It will take all of us to chip in and get this happening!

We have a Secretary, and I personally found a 3n1/2 star Hotel that will book 100 &/or more of us for $30- / head. Which has Function rooms and Casino too.

Surely we would have to spend FUNDS to attend a Unorganized, "Verbal Free for All". How many Atheists, Islamics and the LIKE would attend.

Suppose they were in the Majority and Changed the Rules by Popular Vote and did NOT Include us?

IF you want such a Thing, How about YAHOO Groups first On Line for a year or so, and work OUT all the Details and Particulars? Then after we came to some Meeting of the Minds [or Lack of Minds] then plan the Conference?

MORE Complex Answer:

who was always being nasty to everyone. I think she just wanted to

I think in order for this to work, we would all have to give some on our ideals. For instance, I would prefer no alcohol, but then not many atheists would come.

We should have a lot of fun things like the ESPN fun zone, along with the teaching of Gods word, and all other religious books. There would have to be rules, like no mocking people because of their beliefs, etc.

I am all for it, in fact, I will volunteer to do some of the preaching.

Count me in. Sounds like fun. But I say no preaching. I would love to hear Pastor Bill. But for a mixed group, To be fair lets just let our lights shine and the Holy Ghost do His job. No one comes less the Spirit draws them.

It would be a blessing to get together and see each of you face to face.

Please remember that CHRIST said HE came to "save the lost" (Luke 19:10). HE spent time with sinners and spoke with them at length (woman at the well, ate with sinners, the woman who was about to be stoned for her "indiscretions"). HIS' example is one that should be remembered. I do not believe that we are attempting to "convert" ever one of these people who come but I feel it is important to see one another and spend time getting to know what each one of us has to offer and share at such a time. I do not intend to have a "vowed atheist" attend church services with me just because we spend a day together and I certainly do not intend to skip a religious service just because I spent a day with them. Does that make sense to you? I certainly hope that it does.

Agree to have a friendly get together or two.

The christians could meet later and visit different churches of have their own prayer meeting and church (have R&S members, that are ministers, preach).

The atheists could join the christians or go to the bars and casinos.

One suggestion would be,highlighting member skills and talents through an informal type of ''show & tell'' for grown ups,including various demonstrations,teachings,musical performances(I could sit in on the drums,if needed)...

Who are we kidding...The event will no doubt,be reduced to a free for all MMA competition of sorts and I tremble,considering the human carnage,to be highlighted in the morning -after news broadcasts....lol, 'jus kiddin'
