Those people are in a hate group disguised as a religion/cult. They are absolutely insane. I had an issue when we just moved to a new neighborhood a few months ago.

One of the new neighbors is one of Fred Phelps' drones and for some reasons was offended that we are Jewish and that my father is a rabbi. She ripped our Mezuzah which contains holy scriptures off the door post and threw it on the ground, told my four year old brother he was going to "hell" for being "a jew" then called my 14 year old brother (who is openly gay) a "jew fag" She wouldn't leave us alone and kept trying to convert us until my parents finally got a restraining order against her.

I have never heard of Westboro Baptist chuch. Who are they and who is Fred Phelps?

But they do show the beauty of America, they are hated, reviled, despised, and loathed. But they are allowed their freedom of speech. They prove to Islam and anyone else... WE CAN TAKE IT. We can handle freedom. We don't need to be gaging EVERYONE because some others disgust us.

I feel very sorry for the families that the church has offended (I know offended is a understatement). I think that it is horrible what they do and what they believe. In my opinion groups like this are why so many people distrust Christianity.

Anyone who will protest funerals with signs that say "God hates your kid" are pure nut jobs. As much as I'm all for free speech they are one group, albeit small, who should be censored.

They might as well take Baptist out of there name. They don't act like any follower of Jesus...

They are horrible people, but are being honest about what the bible really says.

I hate thier lack of humanity, but respect thier honesty concerning the bible.

The funny thing about listening to them, is that they can out doctrine almost every Christian that tries to argue with them. Shirley Phelps Roper, KNOWS her bible and when she debates christians on tv shows, they ALWAYS leave with thier tales between their legs, because she can quote scripture for everyone of her positions and they can't.

Modern Christianity is built on apologetics, which is why most Christians today cannot show you in the bible why they believe most of the things they believe in. The WBC is simply taking it back to God's word, and that is what makes Christians hate them.

All that aside, anyone who would behave like they do, even on behalf of God, is inhumane and warped by religion.
