What fun things can we do at our reception?

We are planning a lunch reception that will run about 1:30-4 or 5. We aren't planning any dances, toasts, garter/bouquet toss, and maybe not even any grand entrances or exits. We aren't dancers AT ALL! That being said, what can we do to make our wedding reception more interesting? Eating and leaving just sounds SO boring. Oh...wedding is in March 2010.

Why not have a mixture of entertainment for guests that can wander round as you eat/ mingle too e.g. a caricaturist, a magician, table singers. If you're not having speeches, what about a Powerpoint presentation of family pictures which can play away and would be a discussion point for guests? Do have an exit, your guests will appreciate the chance to wish you well, what about a fireworks show to end the lunch?

I would still have a dj or music so other people can dance. That's what you do at a reception especially if there is a bar. Everyone can Limbo too.

Have a slide show of pictures of you and your husband.

u could play 'The Newlywed Game'...it's really fun and gives ur guests some inside info on the couple that they may not know! plus it's really funny!

u could also do a slideshow of pictures of u all and have a few speeches done by ur wedding party and family members/friends.

just make it special, unique, and something that really means something special to u all!

If you really wanna spice up the event, why not host it at a clothing optional beach. Just be sure the seagulls don't steal the sandwiches!

    Good luck!
