What are some unique, exotic names for a story based on the future?
My story takes place in the future, and I need unusual, exotic, unique, etc names. Names that aren't used often (or at all). =) I already have a few for the main characters, such as Layla, Skye, Ozeria, Pavi, and Soren. I need exotic names for the minor characters.

Sudipta (my name, it means bright, pronounced sue-deep-tuh)
Sharmila (my sister's name, i love it, it means good luck, pronounced shar-meela, like mila kunis)
Amisha- pronounced Ah-meesha
Sonia- pronounced So-nee-yuh
Shivani (my mom's name, pronounced she-vaughn-ee)
Priyanka -pronounced Pree-awn-ka
Henna-(means mehendi, a pretty pattern, pronounced hen-nuh)

I am also writing a science fiction novel, i chose to take the same approach as Isaac asimov and gene roddenberry, so all my names mean something.
one of my main characters is called Vici (from the latin, i came, i saw i conquered, or Veni Vidi Vici... she is the conqueror) another is analytical, so i called him Doyle (after Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes)
I have tried to be obscure with my names, but also leave little clues in for the reader because when i read Asimov, i love to finish a book and think for a while, then I realise that a characters name gave away the plot from the first chapter, but I didn't realise till I finished reading the book

Create your own, combine names to create something unique. Be creative, just write down some of your favourite names, play around with them a little, and I am sure you will find a reall cool exotic name.

Spell standard words backwards and alter spelling somewhat to make it pronounceable. case in point, the capital of the dominion in my e book (which you will no longer scouse borrow) is termed Haissem, it truly is Messiah spelled backwards. a character in a single of my books (you are able to scouse borrow this in case you like) is Riada, Adair spelled backwards. some exciting ideas: Mada (Adam) Haras (Sarah) Cirtap (Patrick) Nivek (Kevin) have relaxing.

I would pick some names from other cultures. They would be unique enough that most readers would never have heard of them. Try behindthename.com, they have tons of names

Whenever I have writer's naming block I like to play with these generators. Hope this helps.
