I want to live a simple life. Do you?

It is my opinion that having the responsibilities of parenthood overcomplicate life. If there is some flaw in my logic then let it be spoken. How can it be that anyone could hate me for wanting to make life simple. I think it is bribery; a lack of discipline over the biological processes.

Keep it as simple as you can but don't chase your idea of simplicity because that will complicate things even more. Life can be simple at any time in any place if you stop running around trying to get what you want, even if what you want seems to be simplicity.

In a random sample of any given life there are always going to be complications whether planned for or not. These will come and go. How we react and respond to the so-called complications in life shape the manner in which we appreciate the simplicity.

Plenty of people make the choice not to have children and there's nothing wrong with that. However in my opinion there is no complication in life more rewarding on the spiritual level and the physical. It is labor of love and if you are at the same time ATTUNED TO SEEING THE SIMPLICITY OF HERE AND NOW (that's essential to a simple life!) I don't personally feel there is a more justified and honest existence. Any other pursuit in this life would tend more toward the selfish or the pointless. Not that there is anything less good and honorable about choosing a life without children.

If people hate you for choosing not to be a parent then you need to find some different people to talk to. Good for you to realize the difficulty of parenthood. There is no reason you must have children and you can live a completely happy life child free. You are correct that life will be much simpler that way.

And as of now I have been living what you would call a simple life though I have recently and selfishly decided to try and complicate it.

Well, nobody should hate you cause of it. It's your opinion and your life and nobody should stop you from living it your way.

But, I, on the other hand want to life a life full of joy and yet, complicated life. I want to use all this time in my life to enjoy it and I believe, if it's simple, it won't be SO fun.

I know that sometimes the best things are the simple ones. It's not like I want to complicate my life by having each 3 different meals for lunch (...), but just, not live so normal life, I want to try new things, be a different person than others are and be known for something different. It's a lot to ask, but, if you want it so badly, why not?

Everyone is different. Some people do want a simple life. Often with great things comes alot of responsibility. Not just in children but business relationships everything. So if you don't feel up to the task or don't see why any of those things are worth the complications by all means don't do them, you aren't ready.

I agree. I look at so many people and couples who could have had such great lives if they hadn't had children. Personally, I just never want that kind of responsibility over another life. And I don't care if people think I'm selfish for not wanting kids, because it's my life.

I just want to have a roof over my head, live with my honeyman, not work, and live peacefully. Do some gardening, have some dogs, read books, etc. Can't get much more simple than that.

Not really. I want more. To me a simple life is not worth living.

Care to use birth control. Nature must see to the production of offspring so there will always be more offspring than desired, as for that we cannot control; at least not yet. If there were a way we could copulate without conception, and press a button when we decide we finally want children. I'd hate to see this world. Variety would not exist.

I do live a simple life, and it has a lot of benefits. No family, less expenses, minimum responsibilities, live each day like nothing matters, sleep in late and stay up late watching tv every night, work in the moment without plans or obligations while making money, friends, and watching the world go by.

Life can be easy if you set it up to be.

    I'd disagree, somewhat.

I live a simple life, and I am a parent, a grandparent, an aunt, sister, wife, friend, cousin. Just because I have these types of personal relationships doesn't mean that my life isn't simple. The simplicity is in the life style. If I can't pay cash for it, I don't want it. Simple. If I can grow/make it rather than buy it, fine. Simple. If I choose to walk instead of ride, so be it. Simple. I don't clutter my life with things....I don't clutter my life with "the right people"...I don't lease myself to banks, lenders, etc....I don't allow others to lead me by the hand, to think for me....

I'd call it responsible, in you, if you have made a decision for your life and stuck to it. If your choice is to be without children, thas admirable for you...you recognize that parenthood isn't for you. But, don't call me undisciplined simply because my life path is different from yours.

How can it be a lack of discipline when one CHOOSES to have children? It's extremely disciplined to check your temp everyday, inject shots everyday, eat the right foods everyday, quit smoking and drinking alcohol, get enough sleep. When one actually has children, it takes ALOT of discipline to not run away, to not yell and succumb to tantrums, to put another human being's needs over yours.Hell, just to make a freaking nutritious meal every night takes discipline! AND, how complex is it to love another? It's the simplest thing...ever.

Simple life is the best form of life that anyone could wish for,the minute we want more we set things off the opposite direction.
