Gosh, that is a difficult question fir me to answer. I am a nostalgia freak and I save momentous by the box full. I have inherited the photo collections of my father and mother, from their mothers who were widowed early in life and from my Dad's only sister. My Sweetie has also inherited her family photo collection and I value those highly also. In addition to the family photo collections that represent several generations of family, we have many items that we inherited from family. A ships hand bell from a German ship that my grandfather did blacksmith's work on when it was in port at Port Arthur, Texas is something that we have rung on New Years Eve for many years. My Dad's Masonic regalia is in my possession. Many items from my Sweeties parents are in our home. I guess that I would be forced to ignore all of the materialistic things and name my Sweeties love and respect as my most valued and loved possession.

I could live without lots of stuff, but my internet connection is almost part of me. Where ever I go I can log on and talk to family, check on the news and even answer an question, here. It isn't my most prized possession, though.

I would say my photos are my most prized possession; looking at them brings me smiles and wonderful memories.

If possession is defined as materialistic, then I can't help you, but if it isn't then I would have to say my health, ( what is left of it ). I have lived without a lot of things in my life and I am sure some were valuable.

My most prized possession is a quilt that my grandmother hand embroidered, hand pieced, and hand quilted. She gave each of her grandchildren one. She gave it to me about 25 years ago and she passed away 17 years ago. It was in my "hope chest" and I've displayed it since I got married. It's the most important thing I own--the one non-living thing I would try to save from a fire in my house.

I could easily live without most everything we have...

    My Family

Although I do not 'possess' my family they are my most cherished gift in life.

Next is myself...God given through my parents with a responsiblity to be the very best person I can be.

My joy of life, nature and all that is not man-made.

The gift and inherited love of knowledge and eternal inquistiveness about life, people, and 'why' that my parents instilled in me.

My kitty - a truly wonderful animal who gives me much love and companionship.

I won't say my family because they aren't my possessions - just the most important parts of me that tend to wander around on their own.

For a material possession I would have to say our family history books. We have multiple large binders that contain photos and family history stories. Some of the stories are our great grandparents telling us what they were told by their great grandparents - including letters written by soldiers serving in almost every war you can name.

Family history grounds you and reminds you of the debt you owe to your ancestors.

I have just a picture of my great grandmother. The Cherokee side of my family. Its the only picture ever taken of her. I keep my life simple. I do not need to surround myself with valuables... Why tempt a theif if you have nothing to steal.

My family including my grandchild, is my most prized possession. Also their photos. Most of my family are deceased. Everything else is just stuff, nice to have, but I can live without it.

I could live without my mothers bracelet that she gave me and my most prized possession is my childhood toy cat Poppy.
