Harry Potter :)
I like the Bloody Jack Series, Poison, (by Chris Wooding), A little Princess by Francine Pascal, The Lost Years Of Merlin series by T.A. Baron, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, by Avi, the rest of Avi's books, Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson,( www.writerlady.com ) Will Hobb's books, Caroline Cooney's books, and, though I know you said not to say it, the Twilight series.
Well, these are a few of my favorite books that I read very recently.
Okay, I did NOT like Inkheart, don't bother reading it...
Hope I could help!

Umm, Meg Cabot is quite good.
Incarceron by Catherine Fisher is amazing but then it's fantasy and I don't know if you like that sort of thing.
