Why do I keep getting mail for the same question where my answer was chosen?

This is a current glitch with Yahoo! Answers.

many people at the moment are receiving many duplicate Best Answer notifications.

I remember we experienced this glitch about 8 months ago on the site, and by the time it was fixed i had received around 60 best answers, but have been give around 720 emails regarding them!

I notice some people saying change your settings for when Yahoo! Emails you, but this is only possible for:

-Emails telling you that you have a new answer to your question

-Emails telling you that one of your contacts has asked a new question

-Email telling you someone has become your fan on Yahoo! Answers

As you do not have the Option to opt out from receiving Best Answer notifications, you cannot stop it. (its up to Yahoo! to fix the glitch)

You are not alone this morning on this one, it seems there are a lot of people getting multiple emails about best answers. I have had 9 nine this morning about the same question and when I checked the question had been deleted. I am not getting extra points for all these emails, thank goodness, just emails. When I logged on there is a note from Yahoo across the top saying 'hello we are having problems on this site'. As for stopping the emails, I do not think there is anything in your profile to stop them, so its a case of grin and bear it until they fix the glitch on here.

There is definitely a glitch. Yesterday, I noticed that the notifications weren't sent (that I didn't receive email for) when my recent activity told me i had new best answers. I figure they realized the notifications weren't going out, and while fiddling to correct it either didn't make it so that only one is sent, or told the system to send the emails numerous times while trying to get it to work, and once they got it to work, all those backordered emails are coming out.

But I sure hope they fix it quick. 6 notifications per answer so far.

I think it's some recent glitch. It's happening on two of my answers as well right now.

If you click your name, then "Edit my profile", there is a section on communications near the bottom where you can check when Yahoo emails you. It's probably part of the section about answers to questions. There don't seem to be any other sections controlling emails. You could use a spam filter on Yahoo answers temporarily if that doesn't work.

This is another yahoo glitch it is happening to a lot of people on here. If you spam it you run the risk of not getting any email from yahoo. So just remove the option for now and later when they get it fixed you can go back and change it where you can start getting the email again.

Go to "My profile"

Click on Edit my Profile

Go to : Email Communications from Yahoo! Answers

Remove check on: Email me when I receive a new answer to a question I've asked

Don't know, I was just coming to ask the same question. I was so happy when I checked my email because I thought I had about 6 new BAs but they were all for the same question (and I won by voting for myself when no one else voted). And I've got a couple since then.

Don't pick my answer as best!

Sorry to interrupt this to you although this is going on to plenty human beings and you're in all possibility the two hundredth guy or woman to waste 5 factors asking approximately it. Worse yet, there is no way for us to choose out of having those "ultimate answer" notices!! you could no longer in basic terms exchange your possibilities such as you could once you opt to no longer be notified that human beings replied your question or your contacts asked questions. we are all in basic terms caught with the junk emails. this is Yahoo answer's modern-day glitch. (They get maximum of right here, this is pitiful.) this is going on to plenty human beings. Very stressful!! For me, it started final night. Now that I logged in back, confident, over a hundred e mail messages all bearing directly to an identical 4 or 5 "ultimate solutions" that i are turning out to be interior the final day. yet this is Yahoo for you, they're continuously having some form of glitch or different. Welcome to yaHELL. Yahoo would not look to have the potential to hire helpful help or avert those gadget defects so i assume we in basic terms ought to tolerate it till they fix it. YaHELL certainly.

i had it a couple of months ago, they send me 40 times the same email. it will straighten out in a day or two...

You should make changes on your profile.
