How do you feel about a Muslim fighting for the Western World?

now firstly, i do have to say that if you get offended by anything that i do say it is NOT my intentions, so bare with me

many people, dont study islam, all they know about islam is what they see on the news which includes and is not limited to the 911 attacks and also experiences

but i do beg to differ the fact that most muslims love christians

im from london, ontario, where the muslim population is probaly the strongest/biggest in all of canada. i cant tell you the number of times where i get bibles with pages ripped out thrown at my house because I believe in God and that mohammed means absolutely nothing to me and can kiss my as* and that Jesus is not just a prophet. the fact that i support both the iraq and afghansitan war, means that you wont ever find me walking around outside by myself at night.

i also do take it more personally since my brother was killed in afghanistan due to people believing in this Allah and Islam, whether they're real muslims or not they believed so and they killed numberous troops wearing the same uniform you do

the fact that when my brother was killed, some kids at my school actually got a canadian flag and cut it up into tiny pieces saying this is what you get for messing with islam.

so can you kind of see where my opinion is going to come from? im not saying all muslims are the same, but alot are extremists. how can you make sure that if you let muslims in, that you're not letting in the extremeists?

i think that muslims should be allowed in the military if theyre US CITIZENS, not permanent residents. if they can swear that they'll put the US and the safety of this country before their religion than yah i think they should be allowed in

again, dont be offended by what i say, you asked for my opinion. sorry if i do offend

They were NOT fighting for Islam nor representing MUSLIMS. The so called "Islamic extremists" or terrorists were NOTHING more than self interest individuals who thought they could get their dirty businesses through using Islam and bring other innocent Muslims with them to fight. A real Muslim fighting in Jihad WOULD NOT run away. If this was a real Jihad for Allah's cause, believe me they WOULD'VE NOT RAN from the battle field to start with. If they ran a way, BINGO!. That clearly tells you FEAR was in their heart and not ALLAH and the good cause to fight. History DOES NOT LIE, always smaller number of Muslim armies USED TO DEFEAT the crusader forces. Salahudeen (Saladin) Ayubi was a good example. The guy NEVER fled the battle ground like Bin Laden did. Instead, the played politics and force together to regain Jerusalem.

When Muslims see the need for a genuine Jihad, they know what their duties are. No it is not a suicide bombing. It is hand to hand battle, if not face to face, if not diplomatic war and so on. The Muslim world is trying to live like everybody else and WANT to get rid of the so called "Muslim extremists", they are bunch of cowards, misrepresenting Islam and the Muslims. Look what they have done to Afghanistan, look what they are currently doing in Somalia, can't even let a transitional government get through. Who cares if the transitional government is a puppet of the West, at least there will be authority you will be able to challenge and change if it doesn't work for everybody. Simple.

Give peace a chance.

Like any religion really, it can be manipulated to suite their needs (please don't take that as bashing your religion, but I have a hatred for any extremist on anything really). Really extreme Muslims have instilled a fear in the world, and makes your religion (which you have shown and pointed out, is not a religion based on violence) look like all they do is kill people. I support you a 100% and hope one day everyone can see that being a Muslim (which sadly some people believe) isn't the bad part, it's being the extremist. If I was in the Military, I would be proud to stand next to you. Thank you for your service.

I don't care for muslims with extreme ideologies. Like the ones in Iran. But on the most part I don't hate muslims, its not there fault they hate us. Its Israel. By lobbying for us to give them foreign aid. They redirected the muslim hate on them towards the usa. All these terrorist problems we have today is because of Israel. Not only do they make muslims hate us, they drain us by taking billions of dollars a year in foreign aid. And I find it funny how they successfully got americans to hate muslims. I actually hope Iran wipes Israel off the face of the earth. Would solve some of the problems we have with this country today. Like the end of our democracy as we know it..........

What a breath of fresh air for someone like you to come on here and make a statement such as this not only does your comments show how your against what we are fighting, but it also highlights how much you have accepted the western way of life.

Do us a favour and come over here and teach the muslims of this country (UK) to be good people as well as good muslims!

Well any honest person would acknowledge that not all of any group are alike.

Ive met several muslim people myself who seem to be very nice, law abiding, hard working considerate people.

Unfortunately many of these people.. when it comes to speaking out against the terrorist groups ... seem to not want to speak up and say these things are wrong and condemn them.

We need more people willing to speak up for what is right and wrong.

I don't care what religion people are if they are in the United States Armed Forces. They could be druids, and I'd be happy if they did their job well.

Muslims are not bad people all witch i have met are humble and caring

Great post..my brother is with the Royal Marines in Hemund Province Afg too many of our good troops have been kiled by these scum.

I dont pay much attention to religions or anything as long as your fightin for America we are brothers.
