    Because I paid $9.50.

    Seriously, it killed most, turned some into "its" (vampires in the novel) and had no effect on few people. Neville was one.

    Probably, since few others are immune as well, it's something in the DNA.

    Because he was.

    There were more people than just him that were immune to the KV.

    Less than 1% immunity, it left 12 million healthy people.
