Can the Blue Jays keep up this pace?
I believe that they can. Whenever the pitching is bad, the offence picks them up, whenever the offence is slow, the pitching picks them up. On nights when we have both, we crush opponents. Can my Blue Jays keep it up?
I know its only two starts but have you seen the way the kids have pitched? Other than Purcey's second start they have all exceeded expectations. Ricky Romero is on fire and should keep it up. Richmond is shaky but can get through 5-6 innings average. Purcey is solid.

The Blue Jays are hitting like crazy. Their bullpen is one of the best in the league. Cito Gaston has done a great job since he took over midway through last season. Now if only the Blue Jays could make 4 clones of Roy Halladay, they'd be a lock to win the division. :)
Their young starting pitchers are off to a good start, but I want to see how these pitchers handle pitching in the hostile envioronments of Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park before I'm convinced about them. It's quite different than pitching vs. the AL Central.
The Blue Jays schedule in April is very soft, so I think it is imperative that they get off to a fast start (like 10 games over .500). The Blue Jays need to get Litsch back and pitching effectively like last season, and I think management will need to be willing to acquire another starting pitcher at the trade deadline.
In a division that contains the Red Sox and Yankees, the Blue Jays are still a long shot to win the division, but Tampa Bay proved last year that anything is possible.

I am a dieheart fan and have been to 3 games so far and am very impressed. Purcey stunk up the joint tonight and Litsch is hurt.. Only way they can get in is Doc wins 9 out of every 10 of his starts. Ricky Romero keeps up this pace, and the other 3 dont stink up the joint. This year the hitting seems good, but they arent gonna be hot every night. Also, we've had the BEST bullpen in baseball in the past 3 years.. Its a tough call but I think theyll slow down but still be fun to watch. After May, we'll have an idea of how they matchup cuz they dont play the AL EAST till May 1st. I dont think they can play at this pace (116 wins) but I think 84-87 is very realistic and anything higher would be GREAT! whatever happens, I wont stop believing and cheering! GO JAYS!
If they get a true solid pitcher at the 2 slot at the deadline, plus the return of Shaun Marcum,, this team will be scary good. They lost tonight tho :(

After what befell in KC i will guess no longer. The Jays only don't have adequate pitching to try this. With 7 PITCHERS on the DL and eight ordinary, they have no probability of protecting up after could, fairly if Dustin McGowan and Shaun Marcum out for the year and AJ Burnett wearing pinstripes.

Nothing against the Blue Jays, but I still say AL East will come down to a 3 team race, Yankees, Rays & Red Sox

No...the rotation was heavily scrutinized before the season began, and with the injury of Litsch, they only really have Halladay left. And their offense isn't that good. Snider is doing great, but he can't keep it up forever. And don't forget that they will have to face AL East opponents, none of who are given wins(not even the hard hitting Orioles)
Source(s): After Halladay, every starter has next to no experience in the bigs, which really scares me. - Anonymous1 decade ago
No. Wait till they start playing in there deviation ( AL East) they are going to get wiped by the Yankees, Rays . Os and maybe the Red Sox
