Buckeye Fans! Why are Ohio State football players so slow?
The numbers from the combine are in, look up your favorite Buck and see the poor perfromance in the 40 and shuttle run. And don't say you can't coach speed. Anyone who says that does'nt know what thay are talking about and sounds stupid. Look at the US Olympic Track Sprinters.
And don't use the Columbus, Ohio weather as an excuse either. Buckeye Football players can't run in the snow?
Miss Nittany, you are correct. But the college game changes and the Buckeyes fail to change with it. I want another National Championship in Columbus!!

Apparently another SEC fan making fun of another Ohio St.
Well SEC dominance is now over so now the Big 12 and yep even the Big 10 can now start turn things around. It dont last forever and SEC days in the sun are gone.
Ohio State has players with equal speed in skill positions like any
other program had too in order to have the success they had.
Another un-educated comment and I play football and coaches do
finagg the results as well. My coach put me 20 pounds heavier than I truly was. Was pleased with my 40 so kept it at 4.40. Some players he
increased their speeds. They do this to throw off or make their opponent make it difficult to to get ready. Ok lets say I have a tailback that truly runs a 40 at 4.7. Im gonna list him at 4.5 in hopes that my next opponent do not have a tailback that is same height same speed
at 4.5 that can emliate my tailback. This if they cannot produce makes it difficult to adjust when game day does come. Its an old practice that goes way back, they all do it, so dont put too much
when reading teams 40. Some are true others are manipulated.

You won't be the only buckeye fan at Happy Valley. There will be about 6,000 to 8,000 of them. The other 100,000 will be wearing Blue and White though. I have noticed in the last few weeks that the fans at Ohio St have attempted to claim the Seven Nation Army chant as their own. They apparently learned it over the last several years at PSU. We've been doing it for years. Basically they stole our chant and are trying to make it their own. They also have attempted to steal the "jump around" from Wisconsin. What is going on in Columbus? Anyway, take note while at Penn St. That is how it's done.

You can't clock game speed. But.... you must be an SEC fan. There is a reason the Big Ten plays smash mouth style football. You can't run a run and shoot spread offense in midwestern winter weather, in a torn up muddy field. And they recruit predominately from those states, as well. It's a cultural thing. We breed them big and strong down on the farm, so you can slog through the mud in November. Y'all breed them skinny and fast down South so they can run from the police faster.

There's been some great players in the NFL that didn't run fast 40s but were "field fast". On the other hand there's been some great athletes that had fast 40 times and didn't pan out in the NFL.

Ohio State has never been known for speed. That was obvious after watching them play UF, LSU, USC, and even "Juice" from the Illini.

Strength and size are more prevalent in the Big Ten. Big Ten is not known for it's speed.

Because they don't have to run very fast to catch your mom.
By the way, Beanie ran a 4.3 on his pro day.

Forty speed matters little.
The forty holds little weight with the NFL staffs when judging talent.
The forty's a product of taught mechanics/technique and explosiveness.
The runner starts when he wants to, not at the snap of a ball or a start signal.
How many times in season do most NFL players run forty yards at one time.
Ignorant question.
