Time limit for annullment?

My mom has been married for a little over 5 months now. Is it too late for an annullment?

Update:

Also, I had no clue about it being a Catholic thing...is it only the Catholic religion that can do this?

Depends on the situation and who they are doing it for. Some will say if the marriage has been consummated they can not get an annulment and will have to get a divorce. A friend of mine had an annulment after a 5 year marriage to please the Catholic church. It was a very long process and several letters had to be written to satisfy the request.she will have to check with her state.

I've heard of annulments being granted years after even the kids were raised. Depends on the reason. Actually, I think a short marriage improves your chances.

It all depends on the reason for it. If there was fraud on the part of her husband, if the marriage hasn't been consummated, religioous reasons, etc. She needs to speak with an attorney or her pastor/priest.
