only to those who have read Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead?

He is an epitome of a man perhaps everyone must have wished to be.

What do you think of Howard Roark?

Is his existence possible or a mere idea that will remain to be just an ideal idea of what a man ought to be.

Can/would you want to be like him? why and why not?

No. I wouldn't want to be any of the two-dimensional characters in Ayn Rand's novels. She is a very hypnotic writer and has a lot of punch in her stories, but her trick is to turn everything into black and white issues. The world she writes about doesn't exist and never will.

  • As much as I like Ayn Rand and her novels, Howard Roark is a completely emotionless figure. Of course, I can't say I agree with everything Ayn Rand says, because Howard Roark is her ideal human being.

I'd say Howard Roark is like 'V' from 'V for Vendetta', except Roark is a quiet fellow. H.R. is a revolutionary in his own right.

A stick figure in a badly drawn cartoon.

Source(s): If L Ron Hubbard and Ayn Rand had a child he'd have a 50% chance of being a philosopher and a 50% chance of being able to write.

I wouldn't want to have hair the color of a ripe orange rind.
