Are other races like this?

I'm a Norwegian immigrant and I wear a Thor's Hammer and a Fylfot (swastika) as part of my faith. I have an accent and am covered in tattoos, some of them runic. So not only do I get all the racist jokes told to me, I have skinheads hitting on me all the time. I've also nearly been assaulted a few times over my appearance. I am not racist! My son is biracial! (Native American and Norwegian) It annoys me to no end, but unless the person is blowing a hissy, I politely explain the symbols are Heritage Not Hate. Doesn't always work, though.

I carry mace.

I realize you can't mace the offenders at work, but if you ever get the chance while you're off work, nothing is quite so satisfying as to see a bigot go down screaming and clawing at their own eyes. *happy sigh* A mace certificate is easy to get, too. One class, pay the fee and you're good to go. You may not need one, but I'm not a very large person, so I do.

I definitely share your disdain for such people. I try not to get too upset about it, because I realize for some reason people are always going to hear that accent, see my symbols and get the wrong idea. That's their own ignorance on full display. I wait for the display of ignorance, then I try to educate them. If the quick lesson doesn't work, then I curl my lip and let them know their behavior is unacceptable. There's not a whole lot we can do about this kind of thing, so there's really no point in us turning into bigots ourselves, you know.

Well as a black woman, I would have to agree with you on the white ppl and entitlement thing. There are alot of things that I dislike about my race, but really alot of them are just stereotypes, but I do dislike how some black ppl try to live up to the stereotypes thinking its "cute" for some reason.

It is very unfortunate you have to witness this type of despicable behavior!

I've noticed, Racist people always want someone else who looks like them to board the hate train, whether that person is racist or not!

I once had a White manager ask me if I thought if was time to promote an African-American male to upper management!

I was sooo.. shocked!

Firstly, he was more qualified than ANY white manager (male or female) on staff!

Secondly, they were only hired because their relative knew one of the owners of the company.

Thirdly, they were always late for work, came to work drunk, were very difficult to get along with, abused drugz regularly & they were huge liars!

Finally, she had no bizzness asking me about promoting him, who the hell am I, he should have been promoted a long time ago!

She was such a racist heffa, it was absolutely pathetic!

It was evident, he foot the bill for upper management, she just had a problem with his skin color!

i feel that way about my own race(white) too. so ur not alone in that. there probably is other races that feel that about about their own race as well.
