Um ba ba be Um ba ba be de de do ee de do Thats Okay!?

Hello my darling R&Pers!

What was the first song you can remember hearing by your favorite band?

Mine was "Under Pressure"...I thought it was the absolute greatest thing that had ever graced my ears the first time I had heard it...and, although it was years ago, I can still remember thinking that whoever sang it had a wonderful voice, although I remember thinking it was the same person...oh how wrong I was = )

I suppose that song was my "gateway drug" into the rest of Queen's catalog...

Also, what was the last song you discovered by your favorite band?

Ba da da bum bum...okay!!

Chippin' around, kick my brains round the floor, these are the days it never rains but it pour

Ee do ba bup ee do be bup bup um bup bup, de do!!

*I'll stop myself now*

The same person? That stings, Stone. :-P

Mine was Fat Bottomed Girls (ha! A difference!). I heard it and thought it was hilarious, I loved it, but didn't take it too seriously. Then my Dad played me Bohemian Rhapsody. Ha, that was me gone :-)

Oh, God... Um... I have *no* idea :-s It seems like all their songs have been apart of me for so long... Wow. I really don't know (new "Queen" doesn't count ¬.¬)

    THAT'S OKAY!

    Edit;

Damn, didn't see you'd put That's Okay in your actual question. I don't feel so clever now :-P

Very first song I ever heard by my favorite band? "Jumping Someone Else's Train" by The Cure. At the beginning, there's a guitar and drum part which sounds like a train on a track. I've always been a big fan of percussion instruments, and I was hooked before the singing even started. They didn't become my favorite band right away, but they were in the solid Top 5 for a long time.

(Sorry, this one is pretty ca-ca quality--there was a better one before, but it was pulled before they went on their last tour--they used the vid on the screen behind them during the show--and yes, I went to see them...again.)

Umm, this will sound insane, but the last song of theirs I *discovered* was actually one I have heard a million times. For some reason, it just struck me differently, and it suddenly sounded new to me, despite the fact that I knew all the notes and all the words. I guess that's a kind of discovery, isn't it?

~"Fire in Cairo" by The Cure

(It may be because this is a live version--it's slightly different than the studio version.)

    Sing it Stone!

First and forever favorite, Bohemian Rhapsody. I heard it on the way to a tee ball game when I was 7 years old, and never looked back.

    Last song discovered?

Probably Lily of The Valley. I always just kind of skipped over that song, but Poppy's been raving about it so I listened to it a few times and found it to be pretty fantastic.

    This is ourselves....Under Pressure!

    Trampled Under Foot, I think.

Well it was probably Stairway to Heaven because I realized that I've heard that song so many times without realizing it haha

The last song I "discovered"...was Since I've been loving you

I've heard it before haha but a few days ago was when I actually said, "I really like this song."

My favorite band is Pantera and the first song I heard by them is "Walk". I saw it on t.v. and I just remember loving how heavy it was. That was right around the time I was getting into metal and I had just liked bands like System Of A Down at that point. Pantera was my gateway to even heavier kinds of metal.

The last song... I actually remember that I was listening to my ipod while I was shoveling snow and a Pantera song that I didn't recognize came on. I was shocked cause I thought I heard every one. haha The song was "Uplift". It's one of my favorites now!

    Hmmmm

Well, I'm *not* sure if this counts, but whatever :P

It was 1999, and my Uncle took me to a Beatles Cover Band Concert in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

I was 4, so you know, how the heck was I supposed to know who the Beatles were?

So the band came out on stage, and I just kinda sat in my chair in the audience figuring I would just be sitting there bored as heck for this concert.

The band then walked out (their name was "Rain") and they struck that first chord of She Loves You...

...And by the first "Yeah Yeah Yeah", I was in love :)

    ...Last song?

Sexy Sadie...I had been ignoring it all these years...

I think it was Skeletons of Society - I didn't like Slayer for a long time, actually until like a year ago, then three months ago they became my favorite band, ha ha.

Last song discovered? Eh... I actually don't know. The song, 'Pay Back', I Guess.

I can't remember the first Oasis song I heard but the first I fell in love with was Live Forever. The opening line:

"Maybe, I don't really wanna know how your garden grows, 'cos I just wanna fly"

    Still love it today.
