All false religion is the end time holy whore, if a catholic church is raping kids, stealing from poor and widows, etc then it is part of the end time Babylon, and the same holds true with all churches, one false church ain't much better than another.

However, keep 2 Thessalonians 2 in mind, the chapter says that the LORD will NOT return for His second coming until a great falling away happens, and this we see in almost all churches who turn from Christ, their first love to worldliness and appeasing the flesh.

As I read all these answers I am kinda surprised. I loved the information given by "By Faith"- clearly much research has been done. But I wonder- Do not all these things also fit Islam? Does not the religion of Islam actually fit the description better?

It's a "religion of peace" that flies into buildings, blows up cars and crowds and beheads those that speak against them. Has multiple break-offs from the original and those are very violent. They have more money and wealth than the Catholic church could ever hope to have. They do not "infiltrate" governments, they openly take them over. They stand "pure" and holy before the world- yet rape and marry innocent children and kill their women and deem homosexuals worthy of brutal public deaths. They are massively destructive and violent yet everyone seems afraid to stand against them. Americans now seem to embrace the same people who just a few years ago killed many of our innocent citizens because they could. There are many many other things. It is actually a very easy research area with all the information available.

Hence, the Whore of Babylon is Islam straight from the literal womb.

The book of Revelation speaks about Babylon the Great. This would be the world empire of all false religion. All false religion is going down. They contain teachings that originate in pagandom and are responsible for all the major world wars. They promote governments on earth while only paying lip service to God's Kingdom. Soon it will be as Jesus said, " One hope, one faith, one baptism. One true religion world wide.

I believe that there is a strong possibility that it is the Catholic Church. Because personally I don't believe it is any part of the Body of Christ, so that makes it a very good candidate for the world's whore. And I don't say this to be mean or to offend anyone but only because its what I truly believe.

When I say this I'm mainly talking about the founders and the leadership of this organization. But most of its membership and even some of the popes are sincere Christians who are misled by false teaching...

The whore of babylon or "Babylon the great" is a Christian allegorical figuress of evil mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Bible. The Whore is associated with the Antichrist and the Beast of Revelation by connection with an equally allegorical kingdom. The Whore's apocalyptic downfall is prophesied to take place in the hands of the beast with seven heads and ten horns. There is much speculation within all Christian religious perspectives on what the Whore and Beast symbolize as well as the possible implications for contemporary interpretations.

Many Bible scholars agree that "Babylon" is an allegory of Rome; perhaps specifically at the time to some aspect of Rome's rule (brutality, greed, paganism), or even a servant people that does the bidding of Rome. The Roman Catholic commentary of the Jerusalem Bible, the evangelical Protestant commentary of the New International Version Study Bible, the Rastafarians and the liberal Protestant commentary of the Oxford Annotated Study Bible all concur that "Babylon is the symbolic name for Rome" and that [1st century] Rome was the "type of place where evil is supreme" (Jerusalem Bible, commentary to Rev. 17).

Elsewhere in the New Testament, in 1 Peter 5:13; "Babylon" is possibly used to refer to Rome. This is bolstered by the remark in Rev. 17:9 that she sits on "seven mountains" (the King James Version Bible-the New International Version Bible uses the words "seven hills"), which could be the seven hills of Rome. "Rome" would therefore be the 'new Babylon' and all of the symbolism characterizing Babylon as a wanton "whore," would be transferable to Rome, according to this view.

There are a number of smaller symbolic clues that some see as suggesting a link between Rome and Babylon — the Roman Empire in its military occupation of Israel, its repression of the Jewish nation and religion, its destruction of Jerusalem following Jewish revolts in 70 AD and 135 AD, and its persecution of Christians, would lend meaning to the imagery of the 'whore, drunk with the blood of martyrs,' as a wantonly violent and bloodthirsty entity.

It probably will not be that many months / years until we are shown.

Babylon the Great is said to be the great harlot who is making her bed with the kings of the earth. That would not seem to refer to just one church.

I think it refers to them all including non-Christian ones, but we shall wait and see.

My goodness. everyone knows The CC brought the bible to this world.... it cons me to think why would the apostles and ancient fathers would do that so it will backfire against itself.

Yea, she the head, all the rest of the Churches Creed Sects and Cults make up her body. ( She is made up of three unclean sipirits : Politcal, Religious and Economical rule ) That makes of the beast, that makes up her body of which she is SECRETLY head of all.

Re 16:13 -

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

So anyone that's a false prophet is part of that body of which she is the head.

Speaking spiritual: No, Rome aint it, all liars is the modern day Babylon, and they exist in every exspression of life.

I think the "Babylon" reference is to conservative television and media evangelicals. The people who make millions off televised preaching and try to make christianity political and sell their own biases and bigotry as being "what Jesus wants."
