I don't get it? (Flyers fans please read)?
seriously, whats with the "Crosby Sucks!" cheers and the booing everytime he touches the puck?
saying that one of the top 3 players in the league sucks just make you look like an idiot, and the booing probaly just fires him up more.
so any reason for this behavior? thanks

they are immature and jealous! they know Crosby is better than their entire team combined so they think that they are so great! Crosby just laughs at how pathetic they are and it pumps him up! flyers fan need to grow up! and stop crying

What's not to get here? Fans of a rival team will always play there part to get the other team and especially their stars, "off" their game by doing whatever they can. In this case it is the constant "Crosby Sucks" chant. Taking such liberties on/at Crosby as often, is a tribute to Crosby and his skill level. That can have it's affect on the entire team in the sense that if Crosby isn't performing, others may give up inside and the team may not play to it's capability. Fans do this because they know how good Crosby is and want and need to do such to help their team. It isn't because Crosby sucks, but because he can single-handedly win games for his team. I am just curious as to how/why the Pens played so bad at home in front of "their fans" in game 5? Wait till this afternoon's game in Philly. Expect more of the same and possibly even more taunting as Philly's confidence, goaltending and game has picked up.

And drawing attention to it again makes it that much better...
I don't get the hate for Crosby either...I'm a Pens fan...but I can't say that I'm a Crosby fan. I'm really tired of hearing people rip on him though...and all the chanting from Wachovia Center hasn't fired him up as he hasn't been that outstanding this playoff series so far...
It's just the game...there will always be senseless hatred going on...just brush it off and be thankful he's on the Pens and not another team.
I sure hope he comes out to play today and actually gives a reason for him to be worth all the hate that he is receiving.

People pay their money to attend a game. If they want to boo, it is their right. Maybe Pens fans shouldn't be calling the Flyers cheap shot artists while Crosby goes around punching players in the nut sack.
Just a reminder:

The fans are trying to get inside Crosby's head. Crosby has played better against the Flyers than any other team in his career. Therefore, the fans try to help their team out by getting in his head and messing with him. He doesn't suck, Flyers fans know that, but he has admitted that the chanting and the hostility makes the Wachovia Center one of the hardest arenas for him to play in, and Flyers fans want to keep it that way. Think about it. Let's say Jeff Carter played his absolute best when playing against the Pens. Then wouldn't you want to help your team get a slight edge over him in Mellon Arena by getting inside his head and knocking off his game?
Also, don't even try to convince me that Flyers fans are the only fans who do this. I've seen it in many arenas, including Pittsburgh, Montreal, Washington and New York.

Not a fan of the Pens or Flyers personally, but I think we all know that Philly fans are known to voice their opinions AND there is a pretty big rivalry between y'all's 2 teams

it's nothing to try and understand, really. compare philly fans to groundlings from shakespeare's time. they wanted constant, stupid entertainment at a play that they could not actually see (they went to socialize), like dancing, music, and most important, clowns! and if clowns don't remind you of the flyers i don't know what does. groundlings were loud, obnoxious, foolish, and they loved to boo at things they did not understand.
the flyers fans behavior is usually a sign of idiocy.
"What the fool cannot learn, he laughs at, thinking that by his laughter he shows superiority instead of a latent idiocy."
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."
(basically because wiser people actually have a conscience.)
"Prejudices are what fools use for reason."
i may be getting to into it because hockey is ~just~ a sport, but as far as i'm concerned, it's more than that, and i believe that by educating flyers fans that they really are just idiots may help their image in the long run.
you have idiot fans in every team arena, but the wachovia center seems to have 95% of them. you're still going to get things like this at any game, any team, though. it's expected. it's hockey!
