Is the Honda Rebel a Chick bike?

More specifically, the 1986 Honda Rebel 450.... I want to get a motorcycle, and I've found an affordable Honda Rebel. Now on this particular bike, Most people with the bike, in photos, are chicks(not like a model)

Now, I am new to motorcycles, I've Sat on a motorcycle AND THATS IT. So the power that the Rebel is lacking (I've heard its lacking) isn't really a problem for me. But are there other aspects to it that make it a chick bike

If I got this bike would I be laughed at by all the other guys on motorcycles

Would buying this bike take up some of my man cards?

Update:

You make a valid point with the attracting chicks part :)

its funny i told this girl at work that I'm gonna get a motorcycle, and she's been flirting with me hardcore ever since

Update 2:

Hey kracker.... the 86 rebel, the only reason im interested is that I may be able to get it for $900

Get the bike ride the wheels off of it. Two wheels on the ground ,the wind in your face is all that matters. When we were young-ins we grew up on 350, 450 Honda's we road them thru hell and back, and had a high time doing it. Listen to the bike run at idle, if its smooth and steady I'd say the motors in good shape, rev it up just a bit and listen to it does it pick revs easy, does it sputter, Be careful taking on a passenger as a new rider, they make a difference in the way the bike stops and handles in the curves. You should be able to find a beginners riding course in your area, Take it, for a small fee they supply you with a bike, and some valuable lessons and get you on the road with some skills and a little experience. The hardest thing about riding a bike is keeping it steady at low speeds, like in stop and go traffic. And yes chicks dig a bike. Let that motorcycle represent you, keep it clean and shiny, get some boots and stuff that show a little attitude. But most of all have fun. Rock n Roll...

Rebel. The 250 cc bike is the easiest to learn on. The Virago is out of production and has some design characteristics that make them expensive to service. The Honda VT-600-C Shdow VLX is an excellent choice, as well.

Its a good starter bike. I had one several years ago & used it for commuting. You're correct in saying its a little weak but still a nice little bike. I'd guess that you're seeing girls with the bike 'cause it has a very low seat height. Really nice for those of us that are "inseam challenged" The Rebel is easy to handle, tried & true design, trouble free. & just plain fun to ride. It will run freeway speeds with 1 up but struggles with a passenger. "86 is a little long in the tooth even for a good bike & parts are hard to come by. Have it inspected by a good mechanic b4 you buy.

It is a great bike for you to start out on, and no it isn't a chick bike.

Take a motorcycle safety course before you ride no matter what size bike you are planning on riding.

If your weight matches the bike, why not? Getting something larger only wastes gas. No guy is going to give a second thought to your bike, they just don't care that much. And even if it was a chick bike, wouldn't you rather attract chicks, anyway?

A woman recently set a speed record on a large bore V twin, on the salt flats. There is no such thing as a "chick bike".

Most of the world travels on 250cc, and smaller, bikes.

The rebel is a starter bike, good to learn how to ride on.Its a motor cycle and that's it.Any guy who gives a sh1* what some one else rides is just a poser any way.<lots out there>If you want to ride, shut up and ride don't worry what other motorcycle guys say!

the main reason they are considered "chick" bikes is the low seat height, and light weight.which make them a good entry level bike for anyone, male or female.

It's only a "chick bike" if the current owner has a vagina.
