Since you've been using a Mac to update your iPod, your iPod is likely programmed for the Mac and will not just work with the PC. You don't. you have to use iTunes. I download my music through limewire. Then I open up iTunes with my iPod connected and I drag the songs from limewire into my iPod library on iTunes. It is really easy. But you have to use iTunes to add the songs. Good luck!

Yeah, its straight of the internet so it doesn't matter what comp you have. Any software you need should come with it. I know bunches and bunches of people who have ipods and not macs and use their itunes still.

Sure, you can use any PC with the appropriate USB cable attached. If you use a PC, you'll need software that can 'see' the iPod, such as iTurns or WinAmp. There are others but I haven't bothered with them.
