If you don't believe in God...?

then why do you seek to ruin the experience of fellowship to those of us who DO wish to discuss Him?

Can you give me a good reason? Ten points goes to the most honest of you.

The name of this site is "Yahoo Question and Answer". It's purpose is to allow people to ask questions and give answers on a variety of topics, "Religion and Spirituality" is only one. It's not a place to create a "fellowship". There are plenty of other sites for that, most dedicated to specific religions. When discussing religion and its role in society, atheism is just as valid a point of view as any other, particularly since religion impacts atheists whether they believe in God or not.

If you want true fellowship with people, then you need to go to a church where the beliefs are the same. Im on here to answer peoples questions, and even though i am not a Christian, i try to look at and except others for their personal beliefs. If some of the Christians on here would except others for their own personal beliefs and stop trying to force theirs on us, then things might be alittle more peaceful on here.

I've lost count of the number of times that I've seen Buddhists ask questions about Buddhists to other Buddhists, Jews to other Jews, pagans to other pagans, etc., only to have some mindless godgobber show up and ruin our good experience of fellowship. Can you give me a good reason?

Turnabout is fair play, if you ask me.

Religion and spirituality are two different things.

Religion shows every symptom of insanity. They believe in an imaginary friend. They get defensive if questioned about their beliefs, and aggressive when logic and facts are used to disprove their beliefs.

Spirituality is the understanding that all life is divine and sacred, and as such its worth is beyond measure. All life, not just a few humans who belong to the same club/cult.

Where is the spirituality in religions and the religious.

This is not a fellowship hall. It is a public place. There are many private Christian chat rooms, forums etc. Feel free to go there is you want fellowship. This is a place for questions and answers.

If you are disturbed by the many valid arguments against your superstitions and delusion, perhaps it would behoove you to stop shooting the messenger and consider what it mearns that your beliefs cannot stand up to critical examination.

I do believe in god, in fact I believe in many god's and goddesses.

Yet christians will jump on and "ruin the experience" for any other faith on this forum without batting an eye.

If you want to discuss your god, have at it.

If you want to come on an open forum, and tell others that they are sinners because they don't believe as you do, then expect to have your "experience ruined".

    It's really that simple.

Do you mean how you join hands in fellowship and seek to deny homosexuals equal rights under the law?

I don't seek to ruin anyone's fellowship. If you're referring to Atheists being in R&S, I believe that question has been answered multiple times. I will stop commenting on your religion once it leaves politics and no longer concerns me.

I have a very good friend who is a devout Christian. We discuss religion frequently, but at one stage I told her that I wouldn't discuss it with her anymore because I didn't want to take the chance that something I said would cause her to doubt her beliefs, something that gives her great joy and comfort. She told me that that was nonsense. If her faith couldn't survive being questioned, then it was a false faith. She welcomes me challenging her faith as it allows her to confirm within herself that her faith is deep and abiding. If you feel your faith is unable to stand up to questions that you have to choose to look at, then I suggest the problem may be with your faith, not the questions.

I wasn't aware that I was ruining any ones experience.

But you do realize that about 50% of the questions on here are directed to Atheists?
