What can i use to stop my cats from pooing everywhere execpt their litter tray?
my eldest cat has just pood in my slippers! My other cat uses my back yard (and other peoples!)
PS> I've thrown the slippers!
She's 14 and has always used the litter tray. It's just the last few days she's not bothered. My other cats use it and i clean it daily. The cat that poo's in the yard has only started doing that in the last few weeks...wierd!

It's a good idea to have the vet check her over just in case there's an underlying health problem.
If the vet gives her a clean bill of health, you need to investigate behavioural causes. This might be something as simple as suddenly deciding that she no longer wants to use the same tray for peeing and pooing. Try adding a second tray in a different location to see if that helps. Are there any cats hanging around that she and your other cat might feel intimidated by? Cats sometimes use their poo to mark territory as it's the strongest "keep away"message that a cat can send. Perhaps your cats are warning off potential rivals.
The web site below has a helpful check list of 18 reasons why cats stop using their litter tray, and if it turns out that they are marking territory, then you'll also find advice on dealing with that behaviour.

Honestly... you have a Sr. Citizen for a cat. You can expect this sort of behaviour from it, along with a penchant to play Bingo, hum along with Bing Crosby and forgetting completely why it came into that room at all.
Seriously. Short of Adult Cat Diapers, you can't do much except keep the box pristine. Your cat is 98 Cat Years old!!

well thats kind of hilarious!
But, i'm not completely sure. You could show your cat the poo (by sticking his nose close to it, but not touching it or anything) and tell him "bad" or "no"
then you could stick him in the litter box and tell him "go here" or "yes" or something!
Also you can scoop up the poo and put it in the litter box, that way they will smell it and think thats where they are supposed to go. It has worked for my guinea pigs, so cats should be a lot easier to train! good luck!

Well, especially if your cat is older, it might have developed a condition. The younger cat might have either gotten something from the older one or be taking cues from the older one, like following the older ones lead. You should definitely take her to the vet, both of them.

Older cats can sometimes behave like kittens!! they need to be retrained. Try and find some spray used to train kittens and sprying it on the litter. it lets the cat know where its supposed to do the doo doo. its very effective!!
hope it helps!!
