Why do people hate on Tom Brady so much?

He was a back-up at Michigan...and a SIXTH round draft pick by the Pats...and he's gonna onto win 3 Superbowls and become one of the more elite passers in the NFL today and in history...and now has a wicked hot wife...Shouldn't he serve more of an inspiration to people today than to be hated on like a first-round draft pick?

Update:

Felicia...how did they cheat? Because some guy videotaped the FIRST QUARTER of the FIRST GAME of the season? That nobody ever saw...

I find it funny that people like to blame the entire team because of some video worker

America in particular tends to root for the underdog in sports, and no one likes to see the same team win over and over (unless you're a fan of that team.) So, if you win 3 SuperBowls in a short period of time, no matter who you are, you'll be hated.

Add in the fact that he's good looking and has a hot wife, people get jealous that he appears to have it all. Also, when someone is classified as "the best of all time," people automatically tend to hate him for various reasons.

Tony Romo (though he hasn't won anything) suffers from the same sort of thing... once he started dating Jessica Simpson he became much more hated.

Cheating, cheating and cheating. And if you tell me that you don't think they didn't cheat, you are an ignorant fan. My best friend, unfortunately is a big NE fanatic since birth, and even he was pissed at the fact that they cheated, and I've talked to numerous NE fans, and they weren't too happy either and also knew they cheated. When y'all can get that through y'all's head...then y'all will be good.

Also, he is an arrogant piece of crap. He gets flustered so easily when he gets sacked or picked off, and I've seen some games where he yells at his receivers for not catching it, when even Chuck Norris himself couldn't catch a ball so high. He yells at everyone, and he doesn't seem like a good roll model to me at all. He's cocky, like your old fasion steriotypical QB Jock, where the whole world revolves around him. He's gonna get hurt again because of that. He's not going to be fully healed for another two or three years, assuming he doesn't get hurt again. And elite passer? Wes Welker and Randy Moss have helped him with his so called "elite passer" status. If Dan Marino or Joe Montana was on the undefeated team before the Super Bowl...you wouldn't be able to think of the records they would've had. Matt Cassell even looked good when he started playing. He has good receivers. Now some hot wife is supposed to make me look up to him as a role model? Why the hell? I got myself a lovely GF who is more beautiful to me than her, and it's not all about the looks. Does she have the heart? No, I don't look at all these dude's wife and say, "she's hot" I should jack off to Brady because he's my role model and he has a hot wife, and I have nothing better to do except watch the game of Tom Brady and jack off.

If I have offended you, sorry, but this is my own biased opinion. Everyone has their own, and no matter what ya think of me, it's okay. I'll be the one dying for you in a couple of years....

Jealousy and because everyone hates the Patriots, people say he is a "system" QB and wouldn't be as good on other nFL teams. Which is a stupid remark because he is obviously a awesome passer and leader, he had 50 tds and led his team to 3 superbowls and a undefeated regular season. He came in for Drew Bledsoe and won the superbowl that SAME season! People just love to hate a winner and especially since the whole Patriots cheating scheme people always use that as an excuse to why he is good which is complete bull.

    GO Brady!

I think it has a lot to do with the Patriots themselves. Spygate and the overall mentality of Bill Bilichick is what will always overshadow him. He will always be haunted with the notion as a cheater. Many see him as having an edge over the opposing teams because he was aware of the Defensive plays. In fact, knowing what the Defense will do is a huge edge to a QB.

I am not taking away the fact that Brady is talented, but you do have to take in consideration of what has come out and question their past success.

Thumbs up to those who agree.

Edit: That video worker was employed and told to film the defensive workouts by the Patriot organization. He is not some random guy.

People hate winners in this country.. except Tiger Woods.. which I don't quite understand.

People hate the Yankees and Red Sox now.

People hate the Patriots (along with Brady)

    People hate the Celtics now

    People hate the Red Wings

A lot of people I know (in the Chicago area) hate him because he's a former Michigan QB.

Michigan isn't much liked around here.

There are a few reasons I don't like him:

    1. He's on the Patriots

    2. He went to Michigan (Notre Dame fan)

I'm not saying he's bad, I actually think he is one of the best QBs of all time, this just makes me hate him more!

Because he is the best QB in the NFL...and already in the top 5 greatest ever...

Because he's a smug pompous jerk, any "humility" he displays is an act. All you have to do is watch his interview before that Giants superbowl. Man did he end up eating his words and I LOVED it.

(Not a Giants fan but DEFINITELY not a Patriots or Tom Brady fan)

A lot of it is jealousy. However, the reason I find him annoying is because he has a cocky attitude and plays for Bill Bellicheck (whom I despise). A lot of people think he is a very overrated passer too.
