Who was the best football player in history?
Well not the best, best. But like who was probably one of the best, if not the best. My dad said the Jim Brown, from the Cleveland Browns, was probably like the best football player through history. But my dad has always big a big Browns/Jim Brown fan (we have a framed picture of him in my living room). But like in your opinion, who was the best?

Depends on who you talk too.
But a player you'll probably never be able to catch his records would be the one and only: Jerry Rice
But I'll list some of them that your dad can't probably argue with:
Barry Sanders - Greatest Juker in the history of the NFL. Wasn't the fastest on a clock but when he was going through a pile of defenders, he'd lose everybody....even the camera man.
Joe Montana - Greatest Field General in the history of the NFL. Made everyone around him Great!
Dan Marino - The GunSlinger. Just look at his stats.
Jerry Rice - Nobody will ever catch him on his receptions, yards, or touchdowns because he was productive for so long. Wasn't always the fastest like Barry Sanders but was the greatest wide receiver after the catch because he could lose defenders with his deceptive speed.
Walter Payton - Sweetness was the Best RB of the 80s, even with HOF RBs like Eric Dickerson, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen, etc. playing.
Reggie White - Greatest DE in the history of the NFL. Could always find his way to the QB.
Deacon Jones - The monster of DLs.
Dick Butkus - A helluva LB, who could tear your head off. The NFL banned his famed Clothesline Tackle.
Lawrence Taylor - The Defensive Player of the 80s. He was a monster to contain because he was always on his high horse every play.
Don Hutson - Greatest WR of the Ground Ball Era. Caught 100 catches during a season in the 1930s, which was unheard of. It was like a WR catching 200 catches during this era.
Johnny Unitas - Great QB. Held almost every passing record when he retired.

1- Pele 2- Maradona 3- Zinedine Zidane 4- Beckenbaur 5- Lionel Messi 6- Ronaldo (brazilian) 7- Zico 8- Ronaldinho 9- George Best 10- Thierry Henry Lol, its tough putting a list. In modern times the best player is Messi, without a doubt.
