Help with M.E (worries)?

Hi, i'm currently 23 i have recently been diagnosed with m.e and im finding things really difficult, i have had to quit my current job due to it being too demanding i have never had to turn to benefits or anything but until i can find alternative work what should i do?

Am i entitled to any state benefits? (without sounding like a scummer!)

I'm in a rut right now, i struggle with most tasks now and im worried its going to get worse i have a lot of muscle weakness and pain, standing for a period of time is really painful etc..

Im going out of my mind! i used to run about and things! and now i feel like a wimpy old man. :(

Anyone have any good advice?

Update:

In response to your answer i feel sic, your talking out of your bottom, i have post viral m.e. from an illness last year, do you even know anything about the condition?

I have problems neurologically memory is poor, i struggle holding a full kettle, standing for long periods of time etc. i was perfectly healthy before i eat well etc..

nocebo? dont you mean placebo? i feel ill because people tell me i am? mmm..

Please dont answer unless you know about the condition or situation thanks.

My sister in law was diagnosed with ME last year, she had to give up her job several months ago, she is now walking with a stick and she is looking into getting home help (her husband works away a lot and she has children to look after). Its quite scary to look at her now because she was always one of these loud, brash characters who is generally the life and soul of the party.

I would speak to your local tax office about benefits and i wouldnt be ashamed if you had to receive them, you've worked before and i, therefore, assume you have paid into the system. Why shouldn't you claim, now that you need it!

Oh and before you think it is all doom and gloom, a friend of mine also had ME some years ago, and she made a full recovery.

I take it it affects different people in different ways, you might be lucky and just have mild symptoms.

    All the best.

M.E is most likely created by the 'nocebo' effect, where you feel ill because someone tells you that you are ill, but actually you are not really that ill at all. Just try and forget about it. Stress doesn't help so relax, take a break. Make sure you sleep lots and eat well and have a daily routine.

Forget about M.E there is no such thing, so just relax and get on with your life.

Sorry for offending you! Jesus! Never underestimate the power of denial...
