How long after getting a tattoo do I have to wait before I get it re-colored?

I got my third tattoo March 25. It has fully healed and the color still looks great, except in the blue area of the flag. Its very streaky and (to me) looks horrible. Plus, some of it looks purple, not blue. Nobody else notices it, but I've stopped showing it off because of the blue area.

How long should I wait before I call to see if they'll re-do that area?

If it looks healed then your good. Look at it in the light and if the shine is gone then your ready. You'll recognize the "shine" when you see it. Usually anywhere between 4-8 weeks.

Wait until the whole tattoo is healed and your artist gives the okay for touch ups. Two weeks to heal isn't healed inside fully so give it about a month and a half total from the time you got it and then make an appointment with your artist. I have a question though, why didn't you follow the after care given to you at first? Oh well, at least you aren't blaiming the artist or any of the other excuses people come up with. Your artist will be able to tell you when a touch up is safe. Take care of it right this time. -Okay, on that note ... Go to some one else. Not getting aftercare, even verbal, is a bad sign. Means he isn't doing his job all the way and it's not all your fault it's messed up but his as well for not preparing your for the healing. I would go to someone else, have it checked out and make sure they give every bit of information needed. My artist says it verbally, has a seperate form stating the recipient has gotten to ask any questions at the time and has recieved typed out after care with a phone number to reach for whenever necessary. Please, find someone else. He sounds a little sketchy to me.

You should wait 4 to 8 weeks after you get the tattoo to have it recolored or touched up, all depending on how fast you heal. Make sure it is not sensitive to the touch anywhere and make sure it doesn't have that kinda rough feeling that tattoos have after you first get it, make sure it feels kinda smooth to the touch.

Trouble, all that tatt needs is a touch-up sitting. They're free, and all you have to do is show it to your artist, and he'll set you up an appt. to come in. He doesn't want any bad press about his work, any more than you want a blotchy tatt. Do it as soon as possible! No problem!

you have to wait till it turns a faint red green color than u have to buy this ointment that is supposed to reduce it, then u have to turn around in 3 circles in order to be ready to get it colored in
