Who likes Quizno's TV repulsive ads? Anybody?

Second in the series of these unbelievably awful "erotic jokes". Male-voiced 'Talking oven' speaks about elongated 'Torpedo' sandwich: "Put it in me, Steve. You know you want to."

WHAT are these people thinking of? And how did such crud ever get on TV past whatever censors such stuff? What's next? Lewd and suggestive snickering about their "special sauce"?

What's uglier than 8-year-old scatology? Similarly pathetic stuff on a recent episode of 'Celebrity Apprentice' which featured a dwarf making "witty" double entendres about masturbating. Does this actually appeal to anyone?

And please. Save the PC 'Turn off your TV' nonsense. Sophomoric rather than juvenile, but just as irritating in its own self-satisfied way. Nothing says that media is a bad thing in itself. You might as well advocate burning books.

Surprised by the remarks so far. I expected to hear a resounding YES, I HATE THOSE COMMERCIALS, cause *I* sure do. Marketing-wise it seems like a bad time to use two "gay males" in a sandwich commercial when gay marriage is such a hot button issue. I realize that "edgy and controversial" is often a successful marketing strategy, but who is Quizno's trying to appeal to?

People thought it was ridiculous that Paris Hilton was in a very sexual Carl's Jr commercial, but at least there were some obvious reasons for the commercial: sex appeal and controversy. CNN was covering the commercial for crying out loud. THAT is effective, even if you don't agree with it. A Carl's Jr executive said that the controversy bought them SO much free exposure that they were ultimately happy that they made the commercial.

I don't really find the Quizno's commercial to be edgy. It's just stupid. Every time I see it I try to think about why they would make it; it's not sexy OR funny. The same goes for The Apprentice commercial. The joke has already been done 40 million times. It's not funny anymore. If they are in fact making fun of sexual commercials, well then they failed miserably.

I didn't know about it. As someone above said, I either wait a year and buy the DVD, or I watch episodes on Hulu.

But I just watched the YouTube vid, and about five seconds in, there is a quick flash of a "periscope" inside the oven. "We both enjoyed that."

I must not be the target audience for that ad. Obviously, they wanted to be "edgy" and get some attention, but I just lost my appetite.

Edit to "TM" below: I think your point on "free exposure" is the explanation for this odd commercial. I can imagine Quiznos saying, "let's try to make something 'memorable' enough to get some free exposure". Everyone is budget-stretched, and that tactic worked for Quiznos when they made the disturbing commercial of man suckling a wolf a few years back.

I mainly watch DVDs, it's come to where I'll wait a year for a TV series to come out on DVD, rather than suffer through the crappy ads they put out these days. There's no fixing it, there's a dominant school of advertising that believes that after forcing you watch an annoying ad twenty times, you'll surrender and buy the product.

Haha. My buddy works at Quiznos. notwithstanding, he and that i nonetheless bypass to Subway for lunch each and every Tuesday and Thursday. the version especially about Quiznos and Subway is that Quiznos is a recipe depending eating position. each and each and every of the sandwiches have a recipe with each and each and every of the elements already set to be put in, yet in Subway you walk-by using and choose what you opt to do along with your sandwich. also, Quiznos resources somewhat extra meat, and positioned seasonings and others sauces in to provide it that particular recipe flavor. Subway is truly sturdy in case you desire a cheap, yet filling meal maximum of the time. Quiznos is a very sturdy once in a lengthy time period kind meal.

Seriously? We have commercials where Brittany Spears shakes her skanky *** for Pepsi and you are worried about a Quizno's commercial?

I think the intent is supposed to be intentionally "erotically awful" I think they are making a joke of the idea of using sex to sell. I caught it as mimicking the idea that sex can sell anything.

    I like them.

I think television could do with less censorship in general. Anyone who finds a way around it, more power to them.
