Republicans: Why is it so wrong to burn a flag, but OK to burn a cross?

Wow these Right-wingers are so poorly informed these days.

Burning a cross is not a hate crime, unless it is followed by violence.

Southern Democrats who were KKK where conservative Democrats and mostly became Republicans, which is why the Republican party is known as the Conservative party and the Democrat the liberal party.

This exchange took place during the Civil RIght's movement when Southern Conservative Democrats opposed the mainstream Democrat party embracing Civil Rights and becoming more liberal.

And every flag burner I have ever met were libertarians, not liberals, protesting what our government has become, what politicians are doing to the US Constitution, and promoting succession.

Burning crosses is illegal in every state in the United States, you little troll of a moron! No one in the Republican Party is burning crosses. You are a prime example of why Republicans see your left leaning attitude as a threat to society. You're too ignorant to be in charge of freedom.

It's not wrong to burn a flag. Banning flag burning is saying that 'you must respect the government'. That's the idea of Iran.

Burning a cross is symbolizing racism. It makes you a bad person because you hate a group for no reason except bigotry. Bigots are bad people. Do they deserve to be penalized by law? No. But they can be declared as rednecks.

People who burn the US flag have a reason to burn it.

sorry you feel that burning my country's flag is good . it's your flag too burn it if you like , but don't ask for it freedoms when you miss them . cut the country down go a head , but when your down and out don't ask for the relief from your brothers countrymen your own.

as for burning the cross the last time i heard of this it was a Democrat not a republican ; the only people i know who do that are KKK and the only KKK member I've heard are in the Senate and are Dem's. get you facts strait before you say stuff about people you don't know .

maybe if you'd had asked a republican just he thought about "flag burning and checked your fact 'bout who burning crosses " but you accused us for doing so with out knowing .

This is not a matter of Republican and Democrat. If you burn a flag then you are saying that you don't give a s*** about America. If you burn a cross you are saying you don't give a s*** about God.

Well, if you actually understood the point of America you would know how horrible it is to burn the American flag. And really I have never heard of anyone burning a cross. Is this an attempt at comparing respect for your country and for your religion? If so, it is a very poor attempt.

It is not nor has it ever been OK to burn either flag or cross. Cross burning was done by the KKK in the South by Southern Democrats like Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia.

Burning crosses is never correct, however, burning the flag is prescribed in the flag act as a means of retiring a flag when it has become unfit to display.

I don't think it is right or OK to do either but don't want to amend the Constitution. I am a registered Republican. Not all members of political parties,such as the Democrats and Republicans are in agreement on every issue. I wish you good luck on the start of your quest for knowledge.

Republicans don't burn crosses. No American should want to burn the U.S. flag. Only a well known hate group burns crosses.
