What do you think of this quote?

It came from a forum I frequent that has some really good political discussions.

"Even though it makes my skin crawl, there is something oddly satisfying about watching the neocons continue to pursue their agenda of hate and fearmongering as the party collapses around them. They were soundly beaten in the last election, and their prospects are even more dim moving forward. Despite their continued attempts to drive a wedge into the American people, they're losing ground in nearly every one of their ideological battlefields.

What you're seeing and hearing now is a very motivated, vocal minority grasping for relevance. Obama and his administration are working diligently to right the wrongs of Bush and his henchmen. Everywhere you look, this place is starting to look a little bit more like America. From Iraq to torture to tax laws to gay marriage to funding for social programs to foreign policy, the neocons are being routed at every turn. We're in the worst financial crisis in recent memory, and the party that is supposed to stand for fiscal responsibility cannot even mount a sufficient challenge."

I think this is the best summation I've seen so far of the current Republican party. So what do you think?

I agree with you. However, I want to ask you what you think of this non-political quote which reads as follows:

"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, that a frontal lobotomy."

    Pretty good, eh?

Considering how many people purely hated Bush, how the economy was moving downward and a Republican was in office, how Bush was spending like mad, how Obama was treated like a messiah in the media coverage of him, and how McCain wasn't even a representative of his republican base.. I'd say the election came out fairly close. a simple 3.5% swing of votes from Obama to McCain could have meant a McCain win. That's not much considering all of the things going against Republicans at the time.

How can that person even attempt to say that Obama is making this look more like America?? The government can't do that. It's the people that make America look like America. Allowing the government to make so many decisions for us is anything but American. "American" would be the government admitting that it's not their place to decide and instead the people should vote on those issues.

"America" is all about individual freedom. Nothing Obama or the Democrats are offering does anything but move us away from that.

The GOP does not need an agenda, especially with the new rookie in training giving them more ammo than they will ever need in 2012.

You guys should really be more worried about that 200+ million that chose not to vote the last election cycle.Watch them rise up and toss this clown out on his tail. It has been happening since the late 1800s and yes it will happen again.

Gloat while you can for it will be short lived, remember, Carters approval ratings were greater than Obamas. Obamas spending will doom him to the same fate.

Good luck putting down the GOP just keep the same cheer when they apply tire tracks to your back while gawking at your new founded community disorganizer.

I think that quote is pretty accurate. The reason Republicans can't "mount a challenge" is they are in the minority. All they have done is whine and say no, no, no, they haven't offered up anything constructive. They were financially irresponsible for the 12yrs they were in control of the congress, and now all of a sudden they claim to be the party of financial responsibility. They are the ones who got us into this mess. Now they are crying because they don't have control any more.

I think this is a typical Democrat rant aimed at people that obviously can't think past a sound bite. Anyone that is intelligent enough to actually look at facts, history and economics knows this is a lie. Sadly that percentage was less than 50% during the last election.

What a load of unintellectual and fact-free codswallop, but what I'd expect from a leftist.

Not very impressive at all. It's just another hate-filled leftist tirade.

I think it's an overly emotional piece, as demonstrated by unfortunate use of pejoratives, and it often assumes what it attempts to demonstrate.

    I would give it a "D."

I think your RANT ...is wrong, as the GOP is not collapsing or following a fear and hate agenda..and needs reporting...
