How do you explain this to a child?
I went with my son to visit my grandson that was put up for adoption but the adoption failed because my son fought and is still fighting to have his son returned to him. My granddaughter went to. Here's the question. he asked why does she get to go with daddy and i have to stay here. He is almost 4 years old? How do you answer him

I don't know the situation so I don't know what you should tell him if you want him to know the truth. Otherwise, I'd let him know that it isn't his fault and it isn't is fathers fault. Then I'd try to make him believe, without telling him why he has to stay while his sister goes, that you and his daddy are trying everything they can to bring him home again.

I'd say something like, "For now, Susie and Fred are taking care of you, and Daddy has to wait for the court people to say you can go with him too." If he asked more beyond that I'd say something like, "I don't really know right now. Daddy can answer that question, but he may have to wait for some other time when the court people tell him more." Of course it would depend on how much your grandson already knows, whether or not my suggestion would be a good one. Sometimes a simple, "I don't know right now, but I need to find out," will do.

Just tell him that these people paid for you a long time a go and where going to have you back really soon. It's just that so many people love you and you can only have one set of parents.
