Has the Thomas bubble burst? Can the B's dig out of this one?

It's hard to say that Thomas' bubble has burst.............because his team is playing like ****!

He still has a GAA below 2.00, an SPCT above 0.930.

However, Carolina is wearing down the Bruins. Their experience is coming through as I predicted it would. There are a lot of young players on this Boston team in 'go to' roles that just haven't experienced pressure packed hockey like the Stanley Cup playoffs. Any player will tell you that the pressure associated with the World Juniors or the Memorial Cup is a cakewalk compared to the Stanley Cup playoffs. Paul Maurice guided the Hurricanes there in 2002, Brind'Amour, Cole and Wallin were with both Canes teams that made the finals, and there are 11 players on this team that were there in 06. Boston just does not have that experience (with all due respect to Ward, Recchi and Yelle) in their key positions. Fernandez and Thomnas have never been this far..........Ward has.

I said before the playoffs started that the Canes would represent the east against Detroit..............and I have no reason to change my mind

I see the Bruins winning Game 5 at home on Sunday, and then the Canes winning the series at Game 6 in the loudest house in the NHL on Tuesday.

Source(s): Was at Game 4, dad couldn't hear anything I said, it was so loud.

    Hi

Well never thought Thomas was a goalie worthy of half the praise he got. I was not surprised at all when Carolina started to light him up, and thought it would have happened a lot sooner.

Unnamed, I agree on Kipper, in fact it looks like you, wasn't it, saw it coming a lot sooner. I believe I remember a question concerning him beginning of last season, and it was written off as he is a slow starter. Well looks like 88 games isn't enough to get him on top of his game anymore.

    Thank You

  • Another big and timely play-off goal and Carolina sure is making it look easy! Lity's right, Carolina's experience is showing through.

Boston looks beyond baked! I had 'em taking the series in 5, now it looks like they might be out in 5!

Looks like ONE playoff series win will be all Thomas musters. Hard to blame him BUT I still question the contract they gave him because of his age.....I could see this being the beginning of the end, then again, what do I know...I think Kiprusoff is done.
