im 40 weeks wat can i do to help me start labor ?

There are a few things that are said to help, but in all reality, your baby will come when they are good and ready!

You can try a warm bath, have sex, or a shot of castor oil (beware, that stuff is completely vile!!)

Otherwise, just hang tight... your baby will come soon enough!!

Well nothing you can do will MAKE you go into labor for sure, but before I went into labor I cleaned the house like crazy and walked alot. I went into labor on my due date and delivered the next day.

everyone tells me to have sex and walk but you know it doesnt work for some people and i am 40 weeks and i am getting induced tuesday morning. i dont believe that anything can bring on labor until your body is ready for it. good luck

Sex (sperm is said to soften the cervix)

Have an orgasm (if you're close to labor this might tip you off)

Walk (helps you dilate)

Drink a glass of whine

Go on a bumpy car ride

It is an option, for them and yourself. Next visit, ask for a membrane sweep, you may go into labour on your own. Also, 41 weeks is the ideal time to be induced, for baby's sake. Good luck and congrats.

Have sex, it worked for me. My BF lives in North Carolina and I was 41 weeks. We hadn't seen each other in a few months at the point, so when he came in we got right to business. We're weren't even done and I started having contractions. 14 hours later, our daughter was born. My doctor told me to have sex and it worked.

in one glass put 1 shot of vodka, 1 shot of caster oil and the rest orange juice.

dont exactly know how it works but at my child birth class she told us that and she said the vodka wont hurt the baby.

but it will start your bowels and you will be on the toilet for awhile but you would probably have your baby the next day. and if you dont want to do the vodka you can just do the caster and orange but the vodka makes it so its not so gross.

well.. what worked for me... first birth. a couple laps around a big mall...

with my 3rd child.. 4 tbsp of castor oil in some orange juice... lol.. it works... for some they say i doesnt.. but it did for me.. 4 hours and i was in the hospital.. lol

why not try castor oil?? its not dangerous.. all it does is trigger the uterus to contract because its a laxative... eh.. people have their opinions.. but it worked great for me

MOST babies will come when they are ready! The reasons most babies are late are 1)Incorrect due date 2)immature lungs. Inducing can cause major problems!

Supposedly:

Sex- Sperm and your orgasms.

Walking

Spicy food

Nipple stimulation

Raspberry leaf tea

Please do not try castor oil.

EDIT: Castor oil isn't proven to work at all and it could cause your baby to have a bowel movement in utero.
