What can I do with an injured baby rabbit (wild)?
I found my cat chasing/playing with a wild baby bunny. My cat had just eaten a big bowl of cat food and was not interested in eating it all, although there is a bit of blood on the bunny's chin (not sure if it's a bite, or something internal).
What should I do with the little baby? He looks like he's 2-3 weeks old, very alert and active. I saw his mother frantically running around the yard in response to his cries, but I have no idea where to place him so they can be "reunited."
Any advice?
Our yard is about 5 acres - I have NO idea where the nest is or I would have already returned the baby there.

This site will give you the information you need: http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/orphan.html If he seems reasonably alert and responsive, I would look for the nest and place him back in it if you can locate it. His chances will be best if mom cares for him. If he is obviously injured, there is a link on the site I've given to locate a rehabilitator. Baby rabbits are hard to raise in captivity, so it's best to get them to a professional.
Add: If you see the mother running about searching for him, place him in that area. She should find him and hopefully move him back to the nest, but check on him in a bit and make sure.

If his mums still out in the yard, try to make the baby scream without hurtin hmi and let him out with the mum, she'll take him back and he's betetr off there than with humans, he'll recover better as well. My cat caught over 5 rabbits each month in spring, and we releised them all exept one, who we culled because he had a broken back.

I would put him where I found him, and keep the cat in for a while, it will be ok, it will find it's way home again.
