Where should my 15 yr old son and I go on vacation?
I'm located in the midwest. I'm looking at anywhere in the continental U.S. We've got a week and a somewhat limited budget. When I ask him what he wants to do he says "I don't know".

If you're on a budget, check out this site with your son & have him help you pick a destination. You can pick virtually any package on the site for $199-$499 for 3 days to a week. They have lots of destination options, & it might be fun to look at them together - good luck!

I like Albuquerque. It is a city that offers a lot. There are cultural things from the native americans and mexican influence. There is a lot of history, and the city has spent a lot of money to provide things for families. There are musuems, the bio park is great (zoo, garden, and aquarium).
It is also a cheap city. There are discount motels, or if your a little more adventurous, there is a hostel at 10th and central (Route 66 Hostel). The hostel is a cheap stay that draws guests from around the world. They offer a common kitchen so you can often get to know someone and cook dinner together. That makes new friends and you can try cheap homemade foods from other cultures.
Contact me through my website if you need further or more specific ideas. No charge for suggestions to someone trying to do something with their son.

Truth is, the description of your area is too vague for us to be of any real assistance w/suggestions.
Also, that sounds like such a typical teen response. What I did when I was at a loss as to what to do I googled : What to do in NE PA and was directed to www.visitpa.com
I also just tried it w/Minnesota as well and it directed me to www.exploreminnesota.com
I am sure if you do that w/whatever state you live in you could discover something. Also, if you look up your state parks you may be able to find a cheap park to stay in for a week. We have a state campground called S.B. Elliot campground here in PA that has a particular cabin they charge btwn $131-$211 for a week (pending amount of people in the cabin, 4/5 being the cheapest and 8/9 being the most expensive).
Good luck.

Grand Canyon if he hasn't seen it before.
San Antonio is BEAUTIFUL, just wait till you get to the canals and the huge mall.
Detroit is an okay place.
San Fransisco is pretty interesting, I love some of their bakeries and your son (if he thinks it's cool) will get to see the jail surrounded by water.

Why are you asking us? Encourage your son to take interest in new things, to explore his world, to have passion about life. Get some activity brochures from the tourist offices, and let him choose for himself.

Virginia beach is my favorite vacation spot. He will love it....as long as you can keep him away from all the girls in bikinis. haha
