Why do christians believe demons exist?

Its not a Jewish belief, and the 'old' testament parables that christians believe are about their demon/god are mistranslations, and christians take the parables literally.

How did this happen? Why don't christians do research?

Update:

Judaism, which you insultingly call the 'old' testaments IS mistranslated, books are thown out and books rearranged. You really don't know this?

Muslims think they have a better understanding of christian gospels than christianity - they have gospel stories, but that doesn't mean they understand them as christians do.

I think there are many things in Judaism that Christianity goes against! Christians think Christianity follows on from Judaism but how can it when so much of Christianity is incompatible with Judaism.

I am not Jewish or Christian but I agree that Christians need to do research more on the beliefs of Judaism and then they will see how much of Christianity cannot be right at all.

I mean isn't human sacrifice completely against Judaism and the idea of somebody taking the responsibility of other peoples sins? Yet human sacrifice and a man saving people from their sins is the base of the Christian religion.

Obviously Christianity and Judaism are completely separate religions but Christians claim to have the same god and think it follows on from Judaism.

    Why don't you BELIEVE?

Everything that Jesus said was not a parable. It tells which ones are:

"The Parable of the Fig Tree" "The Parable of the Sower" "The Parable of the Talents" "The Parable of the Wedding Feast"

The Bible clearly points these out as parables.

Jesus cast out demons all the time. It wasn't a parable when He did. Jesus said they exist, so they do. He doesn't lie. Here's some research for you:

    Mark 5:1-20

    Matt.10:1

    Matt.12:22-28

Yes. If you want prof, find reports on "Life After Death". A film study was made on this and with this title in Aug. 1977 and more since then. Anyone that had tried to kill themselves and were brought back to life all had gone to a 'hell like place'. Also all others that had died other ways were sent to the judgment area; then came/saved back to life here before the judgment was made.

Thankfully, the Bible does not devote a whole lot of time to discussing demons and their activity, but we can trace their origin. Demons were once angels who rebelled and were cast out of Heaven. “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment...” (2 Pet. 2:4; NASB). While many controversies surround the details of this passage, it is clear that demons were angels who sinned.

Regarding some of the minor points, the Bible just doesn’t make it clear. Personally, that is fine with me! The majority of the Bible focuses on God and His relationship with man.

Check out the New Testament. Angels exist, and Demons are just fallen angels...

You have the infinite spiritial gift of gullibility an naivete. Go forth my blind child and spread the gospel of bible gibberish to the heathen idolaters. Go forth and mock them for their independent freethinking rationality, and whence ever they rebuke your nonsensical claims plasith your holy fingers in your ears and go, "la la la la la la la la."
