Periods & ovulating after coming off the pill & getting pregnant with endometriosis?
I came off the pill about 8 weeks ago having been on it intermittently for 12 years. How long does it usually take for your periods to get back to normal? How long does it normally take for you to start ovulating normally again?
I'm desperately trying to get pregnant and I'm really worried as I have got chronic endometriosis which I have had surgery 3 times for. I know it is likely to take me longer than a normal woman to get pregnant etc but all I seem to be able to think about when I have sex with my fiance is making babies & I forget the fun side of things! I think if I can have reassurance about roughly how long it should take my body to get back to normal after coming off the pill it might help me 'forget' about trying to pregnant for a while so we can concentrate on having 'fun' again if that makes sense?
Oops, think i'm off to fluffy baby land!

well I went off the pill and would only have periods every 3 months. I also have endo. But I had my dr monitor my cycles and he said that I was not ovulating. I would pass months with no bleeding no nothing! So he gave me provera and clomid. Provera to get my period and clomid to ovulate. If you have a diagnoses of endo you could probably skip all the charing and such and request clomid from the start. I got pregnant my 2nd cycle of Clomid! So I kno it works!!! GOOD LUCK HUN!!!!!!!!!

If you KNOW you have endometriosis, you need help from the get-go, probably. Give your body three months to regulate, then ask your doctor to take blood levels to see if you ovulate. If you can't ovulate, you can't get pregnant. If your periods are still regular after coming off of the pill, I would get a laparoscopy and start there. =) My aunt has enodmetriosis but still ovulated on her own and regularly. After a laparoscopy, she got pregnant after only three months! Her baby is due November 7th. I can't wait!
