Can a hit to the back of the head cause a concussion?

I hit the back of my head against my headboard when I went to rest my head on my pillow. It wasn't a huge blow, but it jolted me and it hurt. It is still kind of sore and a little bit numb. The only symptom of a concussion I have is that I feel "out of it." I can answer simple questions like my name and where I live but I don't feel myself (if that makes any sense.)

The main reason why I don't think it's a concussion is because the back of the head is stronger than the front. But I still don't want to risk anything. Is it possible that I have a concussion?

Yes its possible...but really not much you can do for it at the moment. If you feel nauseated, dizzy, or really confused or people notice you acting this way go to the ER, or you doctor if you can get in.

Yes a concussion is possible. If you feel overly tired, weak, nauseus, dizzy, or light headed, get to the emergency room immediately. If you do not feel any of these things, put an ice pack on it, and you will be fine. Take some Tylenol as well.

Possibly. Shine a light in your eye and then shine it away and see if your pupils change to the light. If not then you might want to get it checked out. :)
